Domaine Joseph Lafarge Wine Resort B&B

A unique property with a lovely family run feel. The family room had 3 single beds in an adjoining room, the rooms were clean and well furnished. Breakfast was bread, cereal, cake, juice and coffee. The room was quiet and I had a really great nights sleep.

Very helpfull coworkers. Nice clean and specious rooms. Breakfast was a bit of a disapointment. Allot of local specialties but no eggs, croissant, cheese or meat.

Beautiful location on a serene property. The staff were very helpful with making a dinner booking in the nearby town as well as jumping at the chance to offer a full wine tasting. Very knowledgeable! There’s a communal building centrally located with fridges for your wine or snacks if you wish to have them on the lawn overlooking the property. Breakfast on offer consisted of homemade yoghurt, grape jelly and juice from the vineyard among other continental breakfast staples. 10/10 would recommend.

We have stayed here many times simply because it is fantastic. The rooms are super comfy, the staff and owners are incredibly accomadating and very helpful. Breakfast is home made and delicious. I cannot recommend Chemin du Grand Bois highly enough. And I really look forward to our next visit!

We stayed for almost a week in one of the gîtes as a last-minute booking and it was lovely. Our hosts were very friendly and spoke good English and we enjoyed the vineyard tour and tasting. Despite it being the height of harvest season, we weren't really disturbed by noise. Though there was not a lot of private outdoor space, on the days we wanted to stay in and relax, we took chairs out underneath a tree on the lawn and nobody seemed to mind. The house itself has been beautifully renovated with modern shower/bathroom and kitchen, though we didn't spend much time inside apart from to sleep and cook. It would have been great to be able to pre-order a few basic groceries for the stay as we arrived on a Sunday evening when supermarkets were closed and meant the first thing we had to do on Monday morning was go shopping. The nearest restaurant is on the other side of Lugny, and the large supermarket a 10-minute drive. It's easy to reach Mâcon and local sights by car, and is about an hour from Lyon. For a quiet rural escape, Domaine Joseph Lafarge is thoroughly recommended.
