Historical Charm: Guests frequently praised the hotel's charming historical character, noting its old-style architecture and atmospheric decor. The building's 17th-century origins add to its appeal, with many areas tastefully refurbished.

The Feathers is well located in the centre of Ludlow and is an old building that is full of charm. However, this also means that it is a bit of a rabbit warren inside, making it challenging to find your way around the long, branching corridors - a definite nightmare in event of a fire. The carpark was full when we arrived, despite it being much larger than I expected, but there was a council carpark behind the hotel and only a short walk away, which was free from 6pm to 8am, which is very convenient. Our bed was large, clean and comfortable and the room was well resourced: tea and coffee making facilities with a wide range of teas and milks; complimentary canned water in the mini fridge; iron and ironing board; plenty of sockets including USB, at the bedside and a variety of products in the bathroom, though no toothpaste which was the one thing we'd forgotten to pack! One of the spoons was dirty, hence only 4 stars for cleanliness. The guest wifi was strong and easy to access. We didn't have time to use the reception areas downstairs, but they looked beautifully presented and were full of character, offering a very attractive space to have a drink or meal. Staff at reception were pleasant and professional.

Nice location to local shops, Ludlow castle and train station. Lovely quirky building with cosy seating rooms and lighting very warm and inviting atmosphere. We had a junior suite for 2 nights excellent facilities, superking size comfy bed, large screen tv ,comfy chairs and a table over looking a welcoming courtyard. Mini fridge with complimentary drinks ,safe ,hairdryer, ironing board and iron, hairdryer. Kettle for teas ,coffee and drinking chocolate. Beautiful bathroom with walk in shower, twin sinks fabulous bath for a bubble bath soak and all the supplied bathroom products. Evening meal is a Michelin star well presented very tasty and beautiful cooked. Service was attentitive and very good. Breakfast was continental to start and we then ordered a hot breakfast a full English and 2 poached eggs which were perfectly cooked. Highly recommend a visit.

Absolutely loved staying at The Feathers Hotel. The rooms were very pleasant as was the decor, bed was really comfy, bathroom clean & bright. Most importantly the staff were all really lovely, they were happy & obviously enjoy their jobs from the manager down. The chef & his team cooked us an amazing dinner. The steak Rossini was just fabulous & the steak was cooked to perfection. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. We would definitely stay there again & would definitely recommend staying there.

From the moment we arrived greeted by the friendly, professional reception staff until our time came to leave, we received the best of customer service. A special mention for Cassie, who remembered our name and the nature of our enquiry when we phoned to book weeks ago. This was very significant for us because it was essential we were allocated a room that had not had dogs in it ( due to a likely extreme allergic reaction because of a chronic lung condition). Consequently from that moment we were able to relax and enjoy our stay in a lovely, immaculately clean, comfortable room (Rm 141) which had its own little balcony. We had glorious weather to enjoy it too. Thank you to everyone (especially Cassie) that made our first visit to Ludlow for my birthday so very special.

Hotel is in an excellent location for the town centre, castle and pubs etc. Tesco down the road for supplies. Stayed here on the hottest nights of the year so far. Only the suites are air conditioned as far as I know (so might be worth an upgrade) and if you have a room at the front of the hotel you will have the sun on your windows all afternoon until it gets dark. Once dark there is a bright lantern out the front so sleeping with curtains open is not really an option if you’re sensitive to light. The floors are wonky as you would expect from such an old building. Plenty of history in this building if that’s your thing. Bathroom shower is good with rainfall head and detachable hose. Grouting in tiles could do with a deep clean but generally cleanliness was very good. Comfy bed and crisp linens. Shower gel on wall and hand soap and moisturiser near basin. Fluffy towels. Hairdryer of suitable quality. The staff are polite and helpful. Bar does good selection of drinks and Starbucks coffee. Nice courtyard for sitting outside. Secure parking accessed via a narrow and low entrance - warning ! Car park is charged at £7.50 a night. Breakfast was very good. Selection of cold stuff including cereals, yogurt, fruit etc and hot breakfast cooked to order. Press pump pot of coffee supplied. Had some tapas one night at the hotel, as we were relaxing, after a long day, watching Wimbledon, with some beers and it was very good. Would definitely stay here again, all the staff were very helpful and friendly.

On arrival, we were concerned about the room as we were told a queen bed suitable for 1 but can accommodate 2 ???? The room was adequate, we book for dinner and breakfast, what we believed to be à la carte. On arriving at the restaurant we were taken to our table and given a menu for Sunday dinner (which is there Sunday lunch menu) we quired this and was told there is no à la carte on Sunday? So we ordered our food, the starter was not bad at all, but the rest was appalling I think they had dished up the remains of the Sunday lunch and the gravy was so salty! So we had a chat to the waitress, and she brought out some more potatoes and gravy that were better but still very poor. We informed the manager and cancelled the breakfast as we had no confidants in the food. We then informed the manager about the cleanliness of the bathroom. On check out, the manager had to get the receptionist from outside? I looked at the bill and explained about the breakfast being on the bill after it had been cancelled and asked for the dinner to be removed, and explained about the en-suit again! She called housekeeping and I showed them the pictures, I then paid the bill. By the time I got to the car and loaded the receptionist, the housekeeper and others were outside (vaping smoking chatting) under the Manager's nose! I don't think they run a very tight ship!
