Riverside Inn, Aymestrey

We went for dinner. Although we hadn’t booked, they managed to find a table for us. The food was delicious, with a plenty of choice. The service was very pleasant. We shall definitely come again.

We stayed in one of the stand alone "cottages". Very different but in a good way. The whole place has a touch of class you don't usually find in a pub type setting. Everything is authentically sustainable without compromising on quality. We dined in both nights and really enjoyed very good food. Don't let the price put you off. This is a really lovely place to spend a couple of days. Great staff and manager.

We spent three nights at Riverside and it was excellent in all respects. The food was wonderful and the staff extremely helpful. A great place to stay.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff and an exquisite menu, with some of the best dining I’ve had in a while. Excellent for exploring if you like a good walk and beautiful scenery.

Sadly just a short overnight stop at this wonderful hotel with restaurant. A delightful place in a great location. We wish we had time to explore the surroundings but hopefully next time. We had a very warm and friendly welcome. Our garden lodge was accessed via steps but we had constant offers for assistance with the luggage. The room was very cosy and very well equipped. We had a large decked patio area which would be perfect in the summer for pre dinner drinks. The evening meal was fabulous with a great wine list. The breakfast was also good. We will definitely return and hopefully stay longer.

Friends had recommended The Riverside as a good place to eat so we decided to take a mini break, visit nearby Croft Castle, and stay overnight at the hotel. Our arrival was very welcoming and we were personally taken to our suite and shown where everything was. The suite was very clean and thoughtfully arranged with lots of space and yet feeling cosy too. The en suite had a lovely walk in rainfall shower - shower mat in the cupboard! Nice toiletries too. There was a good selection of teas and coffee and a lovely pot of homemade flapjacks along with fresh milk and a carafe of water in a very silent little fridge. Bedding was lovely and crisp and the bed very comfy. We had a relaxing drink in the bar after settling in. There is a selection of good wines by the glass along with zero alcohol beers for my husband. Dinner was outstanding and every course was delicious. Pride and care have been taken to ensure as much as possible is sourced locally - including from their own gardens and this is reflected in the quality of the food. Prices are reasonable and portions generous. Breakfast was a perfect start to the day - beautifully cooked scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and toast plus marmalade and jam - all homemade and super tasty. I had read some of the 5* reviews from previous guests on Trip Advisor so was quietly hopeful our stay would be a good one. It certainly was and we do wish the lovely people we met there all the very best in the future.
