Lovely hotel in a central location, just inside the city walls. Modern facilities in a historic building. Room was great and cleaned daily. Had complimentary toiletries, hairdryer and a fridge. Excellent breakfast and lovely staff. Also enjoyed afternoon tea in the garden. Loved the old photos of Lucca in the breakfast room.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The check in was easy. I like the breakfast also.

Lots of charm The place was centrally located. Walking distance to everything. The staff were friendly. The rooms were clean breakfast had a variety of choices for everyone. I would recommend to any family and friend for their stay in Lucca.

Spent a night here in early July as we were visiting Lucca to see Lenny Kravitz perform as part of the city’s annual music festival. We flew in to Pisa Airport and got the train to Lucca- from the station it was about a 15-minute walk to Il Seminario, The hotel is situated within the walled city, and from the outside looks like a residential property. We arrived late in the afternoon, and after some minor confusion over whether my partner or I had made the booking we were checked-in very quickly. The hotel owner showed us personally to our room, which we thought was a nice touch, and he explained how to access the building late in the evening and details about breakfast. The room was a good size, and though it was a bit old-fashioned we liked it. There was also a clean and good-sized bathroom, together with lots of storage space. After freshening up we walked into the centre of Lucca, and found that within ten-minutes-walk there are the main tourist sites of the city together with a wide range of cafes, bars and restaurants. We slept well in the comfortable bed, and went down to breakfast the next morning. This was all self-service, and we were impressed with what was on offer given that it is a small hotel. There was a wide range of fruit, pastries, cheeses and meats, with excellent coffee, and the quality was good. After breakfast we went back to our room, packed and checked out ahead of the next part of our trip to Tuscany. We enjoyed our brief stay here and would recommend it for a trip to Lucca.

Recommended by a good friend the B& B has been a delight. Great quiet location, close to train station and the Cathedral, the whole of the city is a stroll away. Excellent restaurants and beautiful shops in the slightly busy centre are perfect. Staff at the B&B are both charming and helpful, Florence is a 1 hr 20 train journey away..avoid Sunday travel if possible..v busy. Highlights..the Cathedral is magnificent and for just £20 we enjoyed a Puccini concert with fine Baritone and Soprano soloists in a Chapel 100 metres from the Cathedral where 5 generations of Puccini were the organist.. quite moving. Lastly compared to the UK prices are extremely reasonable for Excellent quality. 5 stars all day long
