Lucca Hotels with Gym

Delightful hotel - excellent staff and service. Booked a last minute trip to Tuscany and Lucca. Found this gem of a hotel and we were lucky they had availability. Been recently modernised inside and the room was great with wonderful silent air conditioning. The terrace with tub was a nice feature but in the hot weather there were some bugs about. The breakfast and daily “happy hour” with courtesy prosecco and beers were super. However the staff are the real gem - reception staff through the day and evening/night were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast staff and the gentleman stocking the happy hour drinks etc were ever so attentive. Special mention for Alina on breakfast- she remembers your coffee/tea order from the first morning and even your room number - thank you again for the excellent cappuccinos! Highly recommend- will return when in the area

What a lovely hotel this is, in a relatively quiet location within the city walls, yet only a short distance away from the centre. We received a warm welcome and were escorted to our room at the top of the building. Here we had delightful views over the rooftops of Lucca. The room itself was immaculately clean, sharply decorated and very comfortable. Breakfasts, too, were excellent, served (weather permitting) in the small courtyard at the front of the hotel, by cheerful, helpful staff. Should we return to Lucca we would most definitely choose Palazzo Dipinto again.

Hot room // a/c weak and they didn’t seem to care. We stayed at this hotel about a decade ago. It was awesome - clean, fitness center, free parking, great location and good food. Unfortunately, it has NOT aged well. We were given a room that was very hot. The a/c was weak and the hotel made a habit of turning off the entire system with enough regularity that our room was uncomfortably warm. As a result, we did not sleep well any of our nights there. Worse yet, the front desk staff was defensive and unsympathetic in reaction. They accused us of not bringing it up when we had called and stopped by the desk over 8 times in 2 days — and had just spoken to the same guy!!! Another guest also mentioned their room was hot too, so it’s not just us!!! The design in the room also gave you the choice of covering the weak a/c unit with the curtains (and having some shading but even weaker a/c) or the opposite. There was just no winning there!! The breakfast felt more “best western” mediocre than a 4+ star hotel in a great Tuscan town and the fitness center and spa were closed. If you want a comfortable stay in Lucca, look elsewhere.

We stayed here for 2 nights with a bus tour group. The location is a bit out of Lucca but in a very picturesque location. There was a pool and pretty garden areas but we were unable to use the pool because of very short hours. The main villa is very beautiful and common areas were interestingly decorated. Our room was in the annex and was small with trees right outside the window. The decor was very dated and the bedspread looked like it was from the 1970's. The room was dark and uninviting but appeared clean. The shower/tub worked well and the bathroom had better lighting. We had dinner here one night with our tour and the food was not very good. Service took forever, and I gave up on dessert and went to bed over sitting there for more than 2 1/2 hours. Breakfast was decent with a lot of choice, but the room was crowded with a poor layout for serving. It was a unique location but rooms could use a major overhaul.

This 18 room hotel is an absolute gem in the walled city of Lucca. A little tricky to find if not for great directions from the hotel prior to arrival. Mario (father) and Gabriel (son) run a great team of staff, all of whom are so friendly and willing to help. On our first night Gabriel booked up a restaurant for us as it was a Saturday night after detailing a number of his own personal favourites, in -of course- perfect English. We had a rental car which Mario registered for the walled city and garaged for us. The bar was absolutely gorgeous as was our room. There is a lift for those who may need it. Thoroughly recommend this amazing place. Thank you.
