My partner and I booked a room with a double bed, as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and wanted the experience to be special. However, upon arrival, we were given a room with twin beds instead. This was not what we had booked, and it significantly affected our stay. The room was uncomfortably tiny, with poor sound insulation that allowed every noise from the corridor to be heard clearly. The shower was also very cramped and difficult to use. The person we spoke to, who wasn’t even a receptionist but a waitress, was extremely rude and unhelpful. She offered illogical excuses and refused to address the problem, stating that no other rooms were available and that there was nobody else who could assist us. This lack of professionalism and unwillingness to resolve the issue was both frustrating and disappointing, particularly given the significance of the occasion. The next morning, when checking out, the receptionist explained that someone had made a mistake by offering us a room with a double bed, for which we only received an apology and an offer of coffee and cake as compensation. This was inadequate and did nothing to make up for the night that was ruined.
