We've just had a wonderful, relaxing, well cared for, weekend at the Ivy. The location, grounds & individual properties are all excellent & the staff are exceptional so make it an even more enjoyable experience. The courtyard rooms are spacious & comfortable- we had #3, positioned in a convenient corner. Do try the Sunday Carvery it's a fine example of the quality of the, very fresh, well presented, delicious food. We love to walk & were not disappointed with the variety of options available on the doorstep. As we told our daughter, whilst singing our praises of the hotel, dogs are more than welcome.

Generally good. However the beef was very undercooked. When we said this to the chef he was very off and said that there should be done. It was blood red all the way through. He doesn't seem to understand that not everybody likes it like that. If he's going to do that, he should have another piece which was cooked properly. Turkey was nice, although there was no stuffing which was very strange. Very nice pigs in blankets, roost potatoes were good, other veg was nice. The best part was the cauliflower cheese which was browned very nicely on top. I could have eaten a plate full of just that! If they had cooked the beef properly and had stuffing, I would have said excellent.

Very poor sunday cavery as having been before on this occasion we attended in a large group as everyone in the group felt the same. At £16.95 per person this was a total rip off.The beef was very chewy as meduim rare, The turkey was overcooked & as for the roast potatoes were just terrible, Asked for a jug of water 4 times for the table as never came, The veg was very poor a it was overcooked & left out as very little choice too.

We had our Staff Xmas Party on the 6th December and the whole night was amazing. The food was brilliant, tasty and the service was excellent. The front of house staff serving us food and drinks were very friendly and we had everything we needed. Angie and her team were spectacular and would highly recommend anyone or company to have there functions at this establishment as you will be looked after well. Thanks everyone for a wonderful night 😀👏

Review Ivy House We came for three nights on a TravelZoo offer in mid October. We found it an idyllic setting and had a wonderful welcome by an energetic Carenza, one of several young staff who were equally enthusiastic and attentive. The garden room we were given was large, comfortable, very well appointed with large screen TV, good WiFi, coffee /tea maker, plenty of plugs and a great view. The thatched barn interior for evening meals and breakfasts was fantastically well restored. On the downside, our first evening meal was disappointing. There was no Caesar dressing on the chicken Caesar salad and the chef did not appreciate that substitution with plain mayonnaise does not compensate. However, Carenza, the restaurant manager handled it well, apologising, providing free coffee and taking 10% off the bill. In the evening one has to negotiate several unlit paths. Finally, the relatively new shower unit fitted to our room, without grab rail, soap dish or anti-slip floor base stickers is, in our opinion, an accident waiting to happen. Despite these criticisms, we would highly recommend this place for river trips on the beautiful Suffolk Broads and for easy access to Great Yarmouth, Norwich and Southwold.

Excellent overall experience from the warm greeting by the receptionist and a couple of her colleagues to departure and an accurate bill. We had booked through Travelzoo and received an upgraded room. Evening meal on the first night was superb with garlic mushrooms as a starter followed by crab thermidor with a couple of large glasses of Australian Shiraz. Breakfast the next day was a bit slow going as I wanted eggs royale and when it arrived the eggs were slightly overcooked. The restaurant staff were brilliant with Cressida leading and Carly assisting, Would we stop again, definitely.

We have recently returned from a most enjoyable stay at the Ivy House Country Hotel. On arrival we were warmly greeted by Heather at the front desk. The accommodation was spotless. Top marks to house keeping. The hotel restaurant & bar dining area was most spacious & the meals were enjoyable. The bar itself was well stocked. What really made our stay were the staff, namely Angie, Emma, Molly, Caitlin & Carley. They were amazing. In our travels we have never seen a team work so hard, in the restaurant, the bar & the bar dining area. Even though they were all so busy, there was always a smile & making sure that our stay was made the best it could be. They are an absolute credit to the owners of the Ivy House Country Hotel.
