我因誤訂了距訪問地二小時車程的旅館，又無法退訂，落地匹茲堡國際機場，衹得租車前往。10底的賓州，秋意漸濃，層林盡染，穿行於山間的公路，兩邊風景美不勝收！夜幕降臨，除了滿天的星光，一切沉浸於絲絨般的黑暗中，忽然路上四頭小鹿緩緩橫穿馬路，趕緊剎車，若不是天暗，真想下車好好看看這些温柔、迷人的精靈！導航顯示目的地左拐即到，可是我們衹看到鐵軌，似再無其他路可左拐。遂下車仔細查看，（同車的姐姐首次來美國，在這黑暗無人的山間，嚇壞了，甚至要立即掉頭離開）在距鐵軌十米處有一約60釐米高的牌子，上面指示着旅館的方向。原來確是左拐，從一森林小道進去約80米，即看到木屋的燈光。女主人貼心地在門上寫了一封歡迎信，告知我房間、鑰匙等訊息。其他客人都休息了，我們輕輕地按要求脱鞋、上樓，主人對木屋的精心設計瞬間把我們迷住了。大卧室裏放着耳塞，（旁邊有火車道，但這隆隆的車輪聲對勞累的旅人幹擾並不大，塞着耳塞很快又入睡了）我們其他三人睡在有八張小床的閣樓裏，像童話裏的七個小矮人的故事裏的小床，年已六旬的先生興奮不已，真是全新的體驗。大家睡得不錯！早歺在樓下，主人精心準備了咖啡、牛奶、酸奶、水果、果汁（在冰箱裏，自取）麪包、小點心等。客廳的佈置、歺廳的陳設，讓我想到了簡愛電影中羅切思特的莊園，彷彿時光倒流，不知今夕何夕？每幅窗户外，樹影婆娑，秀色真是可餐啊！我們匆匆吃完早餐，迫不及待的到門外呼吸新鮮空氣，太美了！彷彿置身於仙境之中！昨晚覓路的忐忑和這童話般的秋天的早晨形成了鮮明的對比！我們和同在此住宿的旅人快樂地交流，幾個長者，汽車上放着自行車，這兒真是騎行的好地方！約二十公裡外就是著名的流水𡋾墅。….最值得一寫的是女主人Robin 的陶藝作品，木屋陳列櫃的陶瓷，皆出自Robin 之手，還有家裡所有藝術擺設。Dan負責日常打理，是個非常熱情、和藹的長者。可惜我們衹住了兩晚，就匆匆離開去匹茲堡。下次一定住長些，周邊的小鎮、河流、森林都值得徒步探索！….現在我已回到中國海南島，無比想念賓州的這家度假旅館，僅住了二天，確成了我此行最難以忘懷的時光！
