Convenient parking, spacious rooms with amenities, and an ideal location near the shopping mall are highlights. However, guests were dissatisfied with the limited and unappetizing breakfast options.

We only stayed one night but it was clear that the hotel has a culture of positive experiences for customers. Our room was a tad dated but clean and well presented. Reception staff are very pleasant and helpful. Parking is excellent and the hotel is well positioned being surrounded by local amenities.

I've stayed in some hovels in my time, but this place is next level. Brown and white stains on the carpet, walls and even the ironing board. Curtains from the 1980s that covered up a pair of rotting wooden doors leading onto a balcony with a depressing view of an abandoned garden that hasn't been tended to for years. Bedding also from the 1980s, in a room where everything is basically brown. We actually dared to go the restaurant for the breakfast, which was inedible. Bread fried on one side (instead of butter), eggs that were scrambled deep in oil.... only to be then told that I would be charged extra if I wanted ketchup on my $5 sausage. The whole sorry place really does feel like it's just been left to die.

The event organisers had been working with staff for several months, trying to sort the conference room and catering. Attendees were all required to submit dietary requirements, to inform the morning and afternoon tea to be provided on both days of the event. Within the last 10 days before the event, staff suddenly advised that they were not able to provide the catering previously agreed upon. Instead of the promised sweet and savoury options for morning and afternoon tea - after being informed of dietary requirements - they then then changed the offering to a sweet morning tea only, with absolutely no attempt at meeting any of the communicated dietary requirements. That left a lot of attendees not able to eat the small offering, and somehow find extra money to eat off-site. As well as not providing the agreed options, they also communicated that we could not bring food from off-site to eat, in place of the very limited catered option. In addition to this, there was an agreement made about a dinner, and three options were provided by the staff. The organisers provided numbers and preferences for this in advance, according to the agreed price. Again, Angus Inn staff tried to make last minute changes, and tried to add on a service charge, which had not been communicated earlier. This was on the day the dinner was to be provided, giving little or no option for attendees to find an alternative. The dinner option was already expensive for what was provided, without the extra fee. The conference room itself was small for the advertised capacity, and was loud, due to the lack of sound buffering in the room. When a member of the public began smashing windows outside the conference room, one of the event attendees informed a staff member. They called the police, and let us all know when that had been done. There was no follow up to check on the well being of attendees, or any attempt made to inform us of the resolution of the issue.

Located in the centre of the city, across the road from Queensgate shopping centre and two other supermarkets. Easily accessible from Wellington. My room was large, spotlessly clean and well-appointed with a king-sized bed, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, an iron and ironing board. They have a great restaurant and the new menu looks great. Very handy being able to park onsite with no charge. My room was nice and quiet. It could have done with stronger WiFi. it was a pleasant stay and I’d be happy to go back. New management with an active manager that ensure that all guests have a great time.

What a run down decrepit waste of space. Lovely staff, but they're embarrassed by the place too. A sports bar with no sports and "games on the big screen" but theres no BIG screen, just pokies in an alcove played by the desperate. 4 of the 6 beers on tap are out of stock, the quiet of the sports bar contrasted by the din of doof doof in the dining room. I guess they wanted to create "atmosphere" Argghhhhh what a run down sorry place to eat and stay .

I arrived feeling unwell with an upset tummy. When I asked for some plain food like toast, the team assured me they’d sort something out. They not only made me toast, they didn’t butter it and they gave me slices of various “toastiness” so I could nibble at what suited me. Sometimes it’s the simple stuff that matters most when you’re away from home.

Holes in the ceiling in the corridor, stains on the bed base and mattress and a dusty heater. Stinky room and a bathroom with no ventilation. Very dusty headboard and room in general. Very poor quality for the price paid. I will never stay here again

Fabulous staff, so warm and friendly. Nothing is a problem. I needed to store a very large birthday cake 🎂, I had bought from another store in Wellington. The Angus Inn staff were only too happy to help us, by storing this cake in their walk in chiller for a few hours prior to the event. The whole birthday party went off without a hitch. Everything was really beautiful. Thank you so much to to staff at the Angus for your kindness and generosity 🙏🙏🙏 We were all truly grateful for your willingness to help and would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to all our friends, family and business colleagues. You rock Angus Inn🥰
