I am very sad to have to write this review and I rarely write reviews. I am saddened because this place was one of mine and my wife's very favorite places to stay. We celebrated our 5th and 10th anniversaries here and absolutely fell in love with the place and the owners. I understand that the ownership has recently changed and may be in process of changing things, but our experience was not good. It was nothing like the amazing experiences and care we had on previous stays. We arrived before our dinner at the Brown hotel to a locked door. I had texted the number to text a couple days before arriving to let them know how excited we were to come and celebrate our 20th anniversary, but I didn't know the owners had changed. I received no message back. When we arrived, we weren't sure how to get in and it was COLD!!! I called the number posted on the front door and they answered and asked if I had received a text with info on how to get in with the lock code. I had not seen it but after checking, I had received it. I was able to get in. Upon entering, it was a cold ambiance and dark, very few lights on. Not at all what we had experienced in the past. The B&B was still beautiful. They had some tea and cookies for guests when they arrived. But it was only "run of the mill" teas like Lipton and the room the tea and cookies were in was not lit. We stayed in one of the rooms which was one of our favorites in the past. Let's just say it wasn't even close to what it use to be. Couch cushions in serious need of replacement or repair, fireplace door trim falling off so you couldn't even close the door, a random one-off picture barely hanging in an odd place, bathtub faucet handle missing, walls and ceilings in disrepair, dust/mold built up on all ceiling registers, only two towels provided, towel/linen closet in disarray and stuff everywhere, etc. This place needs some serious update, cleaning, and maintenance. After returning from dinner, we were told we could park in the back and go through the back entrance so we did. The concrete is laid in such a way that when backing up, the bottom of our car scraped across it. The only way to not make that happen was to go at a diagonal angle. We unloaded our suitcases and wary of the ice we tried to go in the back entrance but it was locked and no way to enter. So back to the car and loading it back up and going back around to the front int he 15 degrees outside. A little frustrating. Breakfast was okay, not what we had enjoyed in years past. The heat was running like crazy, so at least we were not cold, but it was definitely hot at times. After returning home, we realized we had left a straightening iron at the B&B. I have called and left messages, but no one either answers the phone or even returns the messages. We are so sad to see this place go, it was one of our favorites and will not return.

Beautiful BandB in the heart of Old Louisville. Large, comfortable rooms. Cozy front porch and comfortable sitting area. Our hosts were warm and gracious and very accommodating with an earlier breakfast on our day of departure. The two course breakfasts were absolutely delicious from the fruit soups to the apple french toast everything was so good. Great location across from Central Park. Old Louisville is lovely and walkable. Two great restaurants within walking distance - Old Louisville Tavern for sandwiches and pub fare or just a drink at the bar and Buck's for a more upscale experience - one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time! If you find yourself heading to Louisville you can't go wrong with a stay at Central Park BandB.

We had a fantastic stay at the gorgeous Central Park Bed & Breakfast. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and the staff was incredibly accommodating to dietary restrictions. Do yourself a favor and book a room!

The friendliness and atmosphere were superb. Our room was comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious. The Victorian decor added to the calming experience. It's is a safe, walkable, historic area with beautiful homes and gardens. More residential than business, but I'm sure there are restaurants near.

We stayed here one night for my husband's birthday and had a wonderful time! We stayed in the Central Park room on the third floor and it was clean and nice. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the large jetted tub and updated shower. The homemade breakfast in the morning was really good and the kindness and hospitality of the hosts made it even better. We would absolutely stay here again for a romantic staycation.

We recommend reviewing your reservations very carefully, by email, phone, etc., and still you may never receive any confirmation. We tried emails and phone calls, and after no responses, thought the B&B had gone out of business. Upon arrival, the reserved rooms were totally wrong. The website omits the fact that the carriage house in the back involves many steps. Beware.

My girlfriend and I stayed here Thursday and Friday night. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The building truly is an exceptional historic facility & the owners have decorated the home in traditional Victorian grandeur. So, the visit indeed is worth it, if you are interested in seeing the building itself. However, for a special getaway, I would possibly consider somewhere else. I had called the owners and let them know of the situation - that I would be bringing my girlfriend home to meet the family, and this was going to be her first experience with Louisville and Kentucky, so I wanted to pick an exceptionally wonderful place for her. I picked the most expensive room. The room was quite nice, and the bed was extremely comfortable. So the room was great. However, my girlfriend has special dietary needs. I inquired about the ability to meet this request when booking, and also twice prior to arriving. However, when attending breakfast on the first morning, there seemed to be no recollection of the multiple conversations about the dietary needs. In addition, we were then met with a very cold and irritable response when again mentioning the dietary needs to apply to the next morning's meal. It was not well-received. Due to the negative attitude we encountered, we decided to skip the next morning's breakfast completely. I spent a great deal of time trying to find a wonderful place for my girlfriend for her first experience of Louisville. Unfortunately, she left with a bad impression about the people and the potential service in the city. Thank goodness we did find a restaurant that turned her opinion positively, but I would not suggest bringing special out of town guests here who have never been to Louisville, because, for us, it did not exude the warm and accommodating nature of the individuals to live in this wonderful city.

What a wonderful stay. Location, room, common areas and hosts were excellent. The room had so much character with a sitting area and nice decor - a far cry from cookie-cutter hotel rooms. Breakfast was fantastic and great attention to detail all around. Highly recommended and looking forward to our next stay.
