Have used this hotel a few times due to price and convenience for the location I was visiting.  It’s always been slightly run down which is fine for the price but this visit was just beyond ridiculous from a health and safety perspective and also my own personal feeling of safety as a solo female traveller.   The smoke detector in the room had been covered with a plastic bag?? The vent in bathroom was exposed just above the shower head exposing wires to the nearby spray of water off the shower ? It also did not switch off at all and was horrendously noisy all night.  At 4am I was awoken to male shouting and cars skidding in the car park , the security guard was completely useless and asked us what he should do ? About two men trying to break into the hotel.  To top it all off at 7am the fire alarm went off it took a good 10 mins and more for any member of staff to appear , the manager appeared laughing saying oh don’t worry someone had a shower and set it off ???  Completely disgusted with the lack of accountability of staff and the health and safety issues in the room and lack of decent security at night time.  Will not be using this hotel again. When expressing my concerns on check out was simply told oh sorry …

Terrible stay! This hotel was really not up to scratch. I checked in quite late and ended up having a lukewarm shower at best so decided to run the bath to warm up (the shower was already starting to fill up the bath as it didn’t drain quickly enough with the power of the shower). The water started coming out of the bath tap an odd yellow colour then turned a gross orange!! I left it in the bath so the hotel staff would see it the next day but as it was so late and I’d already had my shower I just went to sleep. A loud obnoxious guest was on the phone very loud at 4.30am which was not ideal (I know that’s not the hotels fault!), but very much disturbed me. Breakfast was a sad looking cold buffet and separate table for toast and coffee. All cooked breakfast was the same, no choices, but it made sense when it came out. Bacon cooked on a radiator, half a field mushroom, no hash browns on a child’s size plate. I dread to think if they even had a veggie or vegan option! I’m not sure what they supposedly charge for breakfast as it was part of room rate, but whatever it is you don’t get value for money. I then used a public toilet in reception. There was 3 cubicles, 1 was out of order, one had the seat almost falling off and the third was blocked and also had no lock on door. I complained as I checked out and there was someone else also complaining and requesting a refund at reception, the poor staff seem very undertrained, overworked and under appreciated. I will be complaining directly to the hotel manager too. It’s no wonder people stick to places like Premier Inn’s because you can pretty much guarantee the quality every time you stay! Very disappointed and should’ve just stayed at home!

A great location, easy accessible from M1. This hotel has lost its way, would only call it a 2 star not 4 star. Food was average, my dinner guest received their meal 8 minutes before mine arrived. (There were only one other couple in the restaurant and the same happened to them) No cutlery was supplied until mine arrived. I have never seen a jug of gravy so congealed it wouldn't pour and tasted very salty. The grounds could be amazing but are unkempt and littered with cigarette butts and other rubbish. There seemed to be minimal staff on duty. Unfortunately I would not stay again.

Lovely hotel with lots of character. Staff are exceptionally friendly and polite. I am a celiac and was able to get gluten free cerial and bread at breakfast. The continent breakfast was basic but a full English was available if required. The shower in our room was not a constant temperature unfortunately.

I was quite disappointed with my stay. The beds were very dated and uncomfortable, and the whole hotel felt tired and in need of refurbishment. Cleanliness was also an issue – everything could do with a thorough deep clean. Overall, it felt neglected and not up to the standard I expected.

Shocking service, 15 minuets to find member of staff to serve at the bar, eventually the receptionist came but didn’t know how the pumps worked. The room was just ok but to get there the carpets were disgraceful really badly stained. Continental breakfast is tea, coffee and toast if you have the time to hold the lever down as none of the toasters worked properly. Cooked breakfast is £5 extra, l did see some being served and the toast was the best option. WILL NOT BE RETURNING. .

I stayed here with another friend as we were on a hen night in Quorn. Check in was easy and the staff were friendly. The room was a really good size and so quiet, I had a great sleep, the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good although you had to pay £5 if you wanted a cooked breakfast which we hadn’t realised. Not expensive though. Overall very good value for what we paid
