We stayed here for one night on our way to the South of France. The hotel caters mainly for families not couples, but that was fine with us as we only spent one night there. Rooms are spacious with well-thought-out amenities and comfortable beds. We only had a short stay and so were not able to make full use of all the facilities on offer. Service was very good and friendly, we even got a small gift at departure. We travelled with our small dog and found this hotel very pet friendly. There is a very nice dog walk behind the hotel along the river.

Home to home location We have chosen the hotel for the 2 nights prior a very demanding sport race (Swissman Xtreme) and it has been the perfect option. The reception and the restaurant staff, were the first to welcome us on a rather late arrival. We had no problems to have a quick dinner just before the kitchen was closing. The hotel is vast and in a middle of quiet oasis, that you can only relax. The cleanness of the room is impeccable and you can for sure extend your stay comfortably from 3 to 10 nights. I believe that all rooms have the beautifully maintained internal gardens. The food choice is excellent, rarely you can find this quality in Switzerland, especially if you have a Mediterranean dietary habits. We had some very special requirements for the night before the race, to which the kitchen & restaurant staff have offered a 5 stars service, thank you. There is also a large Turkish bath, great place to relax as parents. If you have kids, it is the perfect place to go for a weekend or a long stay; as parent you can stay put in one place and let them run around between the gardens, the pool and the multiple play areas. If you have no kids, is still a an excellent place to came, just avoid the school holiday periods. Thank you, thank you, thank you Carmen & Francesco

The hotel's staff excels expectations - the genuinely sweet staff at the reception (Luca, Leo and their female colleagues whose names I did not catch), the extremely capable head waiter and his always friendly, helpful and funny colleagues to the cleaners and the girls working at kids-club - each one of makes the hotel great. Compared to the big family hotels with tons of entertainment that you typically get in Austria, this is simple but it is so well thought through that our son (5 years) named it one of his faourites, and he has really been to almost all of them. It doesn't feel like a business, it feels like people who are happy to have you.

I had the luxury of staying here as part of a tour of Switzerland package. This was perhaps the nicest, most wonderful and friendliest hotel I've stayed in. I had a particularly torturous journey from Manchester, UK to Zurich then to Locarno, but my heart was immediately warmed by the wonderful staff. Seriously, the staff are so amazing. Then there's the wonderful menu as well. As an English-only-speaking-tourist (to which I apologise! I am sorry, you wonderful Europeans who can speak multiple languages!) I did not have a problem at all. Note that the menus are written only in Italian and German, but most phones can translate images these days (my iPhone can anyway). Molto bene!!

Our children were once again delighted with the "Hüsli rooms" and spent a lot of time decorating them. The area surrounding the hotel with the large park and the pool area are wonderful. I would also like to particularly mention the hospitality of all the staff. We felt very welcome from the beginning and this continued until the end. Beautiful hotel in a unique, quiet location, right on the Maggia. Very friendly and welcoming hotel team, excellent food. Dogs are welcome. A place to feel good, relax and be pampered. We're coming back with our dog HUGO at the beginning of May for the 3rd time this year!

The reception was very friendly and warm. The room was spacious and clean. The morning buffet is unbeatable and you can enjoy the buffet until 11:00 a.m., and even until 11:30 a.m. on Sundays. The location is quiet in an oasis with palm trees. You can walk to Ascona in around 20 minutes or take public transport faster.
