Normandie Hotel is charming, clean and a sweet throwback to old LA. It is located in a great area, and it is convenient to so many places. I highly recommend it. The personnel from Mgr, to Assistant Mgrs were all eager to please. You will be very glad to stay there, for sure.

The facility was old but clean.
Because it was old, I could hear footsteps from the floors above, and a couple of people were staying on the floor above me at 3am, so I couldn't sleep for two days, but on the days when they weren't there, it was very quiet. It might just depend on luck.
It was good that the station was close, but I was a little worried about using the Purple Line of the Metro from Union Station.
There was an Asian supermarket and a convenience store near the hotel, so it was convenient. I asked the front desk about a microwave, and they installed one in the room right away. The staff were very kind.
There was coffee service in the morning.
You get water when you check in, but there is also a water server where you can boil water. There were no slippers.
