Super nice hotel! Everything about it is perfect. The Michellin dinner was also incredible. Worth the travel if you are visiting southern France.

After you see the sign off the D10, it’s a 15 minute anticipatory drive toward the grand entrance. You will not be disappointed, the grounds are breathtaking. If you arrive after sunset, go slowly as the directional signs are not lit and they are small. When you come to a fork in the road, stay right. Methi in Reception provided a warm welcome, offering a gel for my sisters’s sore back. We benefited from her attentive hospitality and missed her on her days off. Our six day stay was magical, enhanced by the most wonderful staff. They brought my sister a large heavy plastic sealed bag of ice for her sore back. Three days in, Rhazi, from room service, brought her another without her asking. Kevin in Engineering showed us how to operate the tv and returned to change batteries in our room phone. Nightly, Rhazi and others from Room Service, brought a wine bucket full of ice for our room, as Americans, we love ice, even in bottled water. Our Junior Suite with terrace with seating for six was perfect, providing the extra room we needed for an extended stay. The setting was extremely quiet, even over the busy weekend. We appreciated the little touches - bottled water for our car each morning, bottled water for the room every night along with a little sweet which changed nightly. The buffet breakfast offerings were endless: order eggs cooked to your liking, pancakes, French toast, smoked salmon, a large cheese selection, cereals and granolas, homemade bread and endless breakfast pastries. You’ll take your breakfast in the stunning Le Jardin Michelin star restaurant. We ordered Room Service three nights, tired from a day of touring the area and preferring not to go out. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Even on the night when the kitchen was closed, a staff member brought us a modified menu. Try the artichoke barigoule with bacon and onion, it was a nice surprise, more like a light vegetable soup. Treat yourself with an extended stay, you will not be disappointed.

If visiting, stay MAXIMUM 1-2 nights. The property is extremely hard to get to. You have the option of two very dangerous "roads" to access it. If you're a nervous driver, maybe hirer a taxi. Once there, you basically feel trapped, with nowhere to go. The property and grounds are beautiful, I will give them that. Stay in the castle, because the inn attached to the restaurants smells like food. They pump a scent into the sleeping rooms to disguise the odor. The rooms are outdated, and could use a renovation especially the bathrooms. We had just come from Chateau de la Goede, which was a 10/10 so this property was a let down.

I am speaking here on behalf of friends whom I took to the chateau for a concert and a meal (65 euro imposed menu, by the way without any warning on the matter when we booked...) , certain that the quality of the establishment and the reputation of its cellar would be a moment of grace for all..Stupefaction: the bistrot chef proposed a series of unsavoury dishes that left much to be desired, many customers were unsatisfied judging by what was left on the side of the plates! Bland, at times incomplete (no respect of meal description), the courses we ordered were all disappointing, and the service too slow for people going to the concert ( most of us having accepted the " jazz menu "). Sorbet were so hastily scooped that flavours overlapped, the lot looking mushy, not even a wafer added to the tiny scoops, the veggie dish took the biscuit as it was hard, tasteless dry, and bore hardly any relation to the menu description. The parmesan flakes tasted like cardboard and the beautiful olive oil of the domain prides in was obviously spared us! The rocket leaves when we could found them were all wilted, the coffee arrived tepid etc.etc. Avoid the bistrot, avoid the château, it's a waste of money and time. The manager should definitely consider a change of chef if he wants people to go back or perhaps offer us a bottle of Pur ? They denied us a free coffee after we complained, so I doubt they know how to make clients loyal.

One of the most stunning hotels we have had the pleasure of staying at. Every member of staff went above and beyond, the food was a next level gastronomic delight…..simply wow! A return trip will be in the diary sooner rather than later.

I stayed here here as part of an Eat Pray Move retreat and loved it! We enjoyed the property and did day trips as well. Beautiful property and service! My room was beautiful, the pool was excellent for swimming laps, the breakfast buffet was amazing with something for everyone. I loved the detox juices, fresh strawberries, and dates with an espresso while many raved about the chocolate croissants. We hiked around the property with coniferous trees, a waterfall and place to dip our feet, vineyards… all so healing and beautiful. My massage at the spa was excellent. The dinners were delicious. Fresh towels and water appeared in my room without ever seeing anyone deliver them! I would return happily and would likely use the bicycles.

The grounds and setting at Château de Berne are truly beautiful — the vineyards, architecture, and peaceful atmosphere make for a breathtaking escape. However, the experience was let down by the service, which felt rigid and unwelcoming. We stayed one night and arrived around 4 PM. I asked for a second room key, which is a pretty standard request at any hotel, and was told rather curtly that they only give out one. The next morning, I asked if we could extend our checkout by just 30 minutes to an hour — again, the answer was a flat-out no, with no effort to accommodate or even acknowledge the request politely. The staff made it clear it “wasn’t their problem.” It’s unfortunate that such a beautiful property is let down by a lack of flexibility and warmth from the team. For a five-star relais & château, I expected a much higher level of hospitality. We stay at their sister hotel in St Paul De Vence every year, and the experience didn’t match.

The Chateau de Berne was amazing. It was one of the most beautiful and peaceful settings of any hotel I have visited. I had asked the hotel to book a guide for a day and an atv outing… Both were fantastic. The ATV trip through a neighboring vineyard was amazing fun and the day long tour to the gorge and moustiers ste marie Was absolutely worthwhile our guide Julian was terrific. The hotel did a great job. Our suite was unparalleled we had a huge living room and massive bedroom with large terrace. The service was impeccable but understated. And the shower was a 10+ The pool is beautiful and we really enjoyed our afternoons sitting poolside. Breakfasts were lovely…. eaten outside in the courtyard. We ate two nights in their casual dining. The food was simple, but good. Their pizzas were exceptional. We ate at the Michelin starred restaurant one night. Quite frankly, I did not think it was exceptional, but we are not foodies. we truly prefer the more casual dining venue. Overall, it was a perfect provincial stay!
