Shanglou Chinese Inn (Tulou King Scenic Area Chengqi Building)

There are many earth buildings; I chose the world heritage earth building king - Chengqi Building. I feel that the building itself is more special, well maintained, and the room is clean and tidy. There is a bus from Wucun Bus Station in Xiamen. The homestay is on the top floor of Chengqi Building, and the view is great. There is no toilet in the earth building. I didn't use the portable toilet. I went out and used the public toilet outside the building. The bathroom is on the first floor. Check-in after 8 pm is free of charge. Only accommodation can go upstairs, which is a special experience.

Very nice, wonderful evening down. However, you have to go to the first floor to take a bath or go to the toilet.

The accommodation experience in the earth building is really unique. Although the facilities are average, it is worth it to be able to feel the tranquility of the earth building in the morning and evening. I wish the boss a prosperous business.

In order to find Big Fish and Begonia for a self-driving tour, we first contacted the landlord. Boss Jiang is also the 28th generation owner of Chengqi Building, the king of earthen buildings. The service is also very good. He also explained to us the history and cultural connotations of Chengqi Building. Living in Tulouwang is a different feeling. Only then did I realize that the real filming location of Big Fish and Begonia was here, not in the so-called Yunshuiyao. Yunshuiyao is a pit.

In the World Heritage Tulouwang Scenic Area, that is, the Tulou, the biggest feature is that there is no bathroom 😅 Bathing is on the first floor, and accommodation is on the third floor. There is no way. Although the concepts and designs of our ancestors do not conform to the lifestyle of modern people, it is also an unforgettable and special experience. The boss welcomed us warmly. When we checked out, he was quite busy, so I (nearly 60 years old) carried the 24-inch suitcase downstairs and out of the scenic area by myself. Because the scenic area is paved with gravel roads, I was able to exercise my arm strength. It was worth the trip!
