In preparation for this earth building trip, I researched the homestays in dozens of earth buildings in Longyan area. I can say responsibly that this is the only hotel located inside a Tulou cultural relic protection unit that provides indoor toilet and bathroom services. The room has wooden windows and doors, maintaining the original style of the earth building. The hot water flow is large, which is a surprise! We arrived in the evening, and the owner warmly invited us to visit the night view of Chengqi Tower next door, free of charge. There is no air conditioning in the room and there are many mosquitoes, but this is exactly the living environment of the Hakka ancestors. Since you want to experience the authentic life, then enjoy the feeling of embracing nature!

It was because of the good intentions of the doctor's building that I took my children to experience it. It is right next door to the Tulou Wang Chengqi Building. Because it was built by overseas Chinese in the 1960s, the facilities are relatively newer and more hygienic. The beautiful owner is very enthusiastic and provides a lot of convenience for accommodation and sightseeing. Especially in the evening, I took the children to climb the Chengqi Tower (those who were not allowed to go up during the day were able to see the full view of the Tower King like a stadium). It was particularly shocking and told us the important history of the Lou King family for hundreds of years. This is also her unique advantage as a member of the Lou Wang clan. The hundreds of years of family history of these Lou Kings is not something that ordinary tour guides can compare with.

The facilities are surprisingly simple, with no private bathroom or air conditioning. . . The price is more than 400, but the key is that it is fully occupied.

The guest room is inside the Parkview Building, next to the Wangchengqi Building, where Big Fish and Begonia was filmed; the room facilities are simple and clean, the bathroom is outside, and the sound insulation effect is average. It cannot be compared with hotels outside. But staying in a tulou is to experience the Hakka lifestyle. It's great; the landlady is very warm and honest. She took us to visit Chengqi Building in the evening, took us upstairs, told us about the history of Tulou, and told us where to take photos. She was very enthusiastic and responsible. It cost 10 yuan for each person to take us upstairs and serve as a tour guide. The explanation is very worthwhile; if you live in Tulou, you can get up early the next morning. Before the scenic area staff go to work, you can enter Chengqi Building for free and visit, which can save 50 yuan in tickets🤣

The accommodation conditions are poor. Staying in Tulou is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. There is no private bathroom, no soundproofing, and you can't sleep!

The public toilet in the room is closed before 11pm for elderly people. The room is drafty and dirty.
