The Peat Spade Inn

His words ..overpriced & overrated. My business friend is visiting, and under my recommendation. I was left embarrassed. Service was slow & unpersonal, zero a**osphere.. I was excited to take him there but left discussing the next chapter

We stayed two nights room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed provided. Staff we very welcoming and friendly going above and beyond to make our stay perfect, nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic. We ate at the Michelin plated Greyhound one lunch and the Peat Spade was, in our opinion, much better. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. Absolutely no complaints and we hope to visit again.

Celebrated my birthday here for dinner and a stay in the Mayfly suite. It was truly lovely we have come home relaxed and very happy. The room was lovely and full of character, massive bath tub in the room and all the mod cons required. There was tea, hot chocolate and a nespresso machine with fresh milk in the fridge. The dinner was very tasty and the staff were welcoming and attentive. The only recommendation I would have is maybe doing something extra for a special occasion, like some writing on a plate at dessert or a message on the welcome letter as a special touch. Thank you for a lovely time we will be back for sure.

This is the 2nd time visiting the Peat Spade. The food and the service was fantastic again. Food was in good time hot and very tasty. I had pan fried lambs kidneys (a special) for starters, roast stone base - which was amazing and dark chocolate mousse with honeycomb and strawberry sorbet. The food is just amazing here from the combination of textures and flavours to the quantity. Thank you so much to the staff that were so friendly and helpful too.

A quick stop over on our way to family following a flight into Luton, so we were shattered! We arrived late but were welcomed and made to feel at home. The room was comfy and the bathroom and shower were amazing. Wonderful toiletries and just a lovely stay. We would live to return when we have time to enjoy the pub and another room and the local walks! Thanks so much fir making us feel so welcome :)

Lovely location and fabulous pub with rooms. Meal was excellent and service really good. Rooms stylish and bed super comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

We were very impressed with the Peat Spade Inn, especially as every room is dog friendly. All the inside areas and the patio outside were very nicely presented. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom and a fridge in the wardrobe. Plenty of biscuits to go with your complimentary tea/coffee and fresh milk each day.The food was excellent and the staff were all very friendly and efficient. I am very fussy about cleanliness and felt that there were a few too many hairs in the room and bathroom for my liking. I don't like very soft pillows either and there was no choice. We liked the Dyson fan which was very welcome as the nights we stayed were very warm and the quilt was a winter weight one. Locally, the village of Longstock is very pretty with lots of thatched cottages and the whole area had plenty to see and do and lots of walks available. A beautiful area for a short break or a longer stay. Family who live reasonably nearby visited us there and were impressed enough to say they might do an overnighter there.

Lovely quiet hotel with excellent food (evening meal & breakfast) interiors well thought out for bedrooms/dining area/outside patio. Enjoyed our stay but disappointed to be in an outbuilding on the ground floor looking out into the car park rather than within the hotel itself. We had only a 1-night stay & sadly the fire alarm went off at 3.30am. Despite a broken sleep I was surprised that at breakfast there was no mention/apologies given which would’ve gone the extra mile….

There just isn't enough stars to rate Peat Spade. The rooms are lovely and spotless. Comfortable bed, good linen but the true wonderfullness of this place is in it’s staff and the AMAZING food. We might need to travel around England a bit more but we both agreed that it was without a shadow of a doubt some of the best food we have had since moving to the UK. Trout from a few hundred meters away, lamb a few miles away. We will go back here just to eat some more deliciousness. Kudo’s to the chef. All round winner.
