This is a superb retreat. The glamping tents are very well appointed, the breakfasts very generous and tasty, freshly baked bread , croissants, delicious muesli , fruit compote, and more. We had the barbecue basket one evening and this was very generous too, the scotch fillet steaks very tender, plus sausages and rissoles, rolls and a salad.
Tanya, the owner and manager, was very attentive.
Highly recommended.

It is a very distinctive tent room🏕️. The room is spacious and comfortable. Although it is a tent, it is very clean and has almost all the facilities you need for daily life.
The hotel is located in the middle of a large open grassland. We can observe kangaroos and emus up close🦘
The hotel is only 3km away from the city, and is also close to IGA supermarkets and liquor stores, which is very convenient
Booked a family BBQ package. The store prepared very rich and fresh ingredients. It was really fun to have a barbecue with friends while drinking wine🍖.
Tips: I don't mind staying when the weather is too hot. Although there is air conditioning, it will be very hot as long as there is sunshine. But after the sun goes down, the temperature becomes very comfortable!

Seriously the most beautiful place I have ever stayed The service was incredible, the sunsets were amazing and not to mention the fantastic breakfast basket it is a must for everyone planning on travelling to longreach and stay as long as you possibly can

Wonderful experience for a first time visit to Longreach. Hosts Tanya and David made us feel very welcome. The three night package included entry to the Stockman's Hall of Fame with a live show and Qantas Museum. First time in years that we've sat by a campfire enjoying a glass of wine. Mitchell Grass was a refreshing break and the last stop for us before heading home after a road trip through outback Queensland.

Thank you Tanya and David for going above and beyond to make our recent 2 night stays in 2 beautiful tents so memorable. My parents also really enjoyed their glamping experience! Both tents were very comfortable and we all enjoyed our generous bbq packs, including delicious homemade salads too. Thank you for all the extras, including homemade breakfast goodies, loaf of bread, port and marshmallows (and I mustn't forget the lovely homemade soap too). We would highly recommend staying at Mitchell Grass Retreat while in Longreach.

The accommodation in the glamping tents was very comfortable and well appointed . The breakfasts delicious, the evening port a nice touch. The towels were fluffy and the bed very comfortable and cosy, despite some cold nights. Well worth a visit. ,

From the moment we arrived at Mitchell Grass Retreat, only 4km from Longreach town centre our accommodation was nothing short of magical. The tent itself was incredible—spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly cozy. From plush bedding to ambient lighting to reverse cycle heating and cooling, nothing was overlooked. Robes were hung next to the inviting bath with slippers laid underneath. Fresh coffee and tea were stocked, chocolate, port and marshmallows were special treats supplied. We loved the private deck for watching sunsets, stargazing and enjoying morning coffee and having barbecue breakfasts. We thank Dave and Tanya for their genuine hospitality, it was such a relaxing spot while we explored the surrounding area history. Ruth and Cameron

Dined at the Mitchell Grass Retreat's new Indigeneous "Sounds and Flavours of Country at Sundown" dinner as part of Fun Ove 50's Icons of the Outback Tour. Our hosts were welcoming and provided a unique dining experience with the inclusion of native flavous with Indigeneous storytelling. Open-air welcome drinks and canapes were enjoyed with a stunning sunset.
