Anglers Arms

We went with a couple of friends and all decided to order the sharing platter for Sunday lunch. This was something that I had never seen before so was intrigued. None of us were disappointed, in fact we all felt that it was outstanding! Well done Anglers Arms! Service was great too with friendly efficient staff. We sat outside on a warm day and the atmosphere was good. Overall we all felt that we would come back without hesitation.

A lovely welcoming atmosphere, plenty of parking. I had a great ensuite room with tea and coffee. Beautiful breakfast each day with an excellent choice. Dinner each night was fabulous and beautifully cooked/served. It was a perfect solo stay, very short distance from Cragside and Brinkburn Priory

Fab service so efficient , great food came out hot and could tell that it had being made freah, staff so helpful and friendly made me feel so welcome, will definitely visit again.......hannah ,Kelly, Lisa, and elliot were like family when I visited, just fantastic staff.

Dined here tonight as part of a catch up with some friends, food and service were brilliant. Didn't get his name but the duty manager on shift was brilliant, attentive, great service at all tables and made a real difference tot he experience! The food was excellent and as always clean and a lovely place to be.

Our 7th visit to this wonderful place. It's like home from home! Kelly is a dream as are the other staff. Wish I could live here! More more can I say?? We will be back again that's for sure. Couldn't wish for a better place to be. Thanks again to you all and see you again soon. The Chapmans.

Very comfortable, quiet stay. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Coffee and brownies in the room a nice touch, also opportunity for fresh milk. Kippers available for breakfast. Only possible negative was shower - not strong water flow and short hose. Would stay again if in the area.

Not sure who manages this place now, but it’s gone a long way downhill. On arrival for an early evening meal, we weren’t particularly greeted very warmly, but were shown almost reluctantly to our table. Hubby had a starter of “warm” pork pie, which was pretty disgusting by all accounts. It looked like the very cheapest of pork pies, which had been microwaved, hence the pastry was soft and tasted of nothing but fat!! I had a main of grilled sea bass risotto with lobster bisque, which was completely tasteless, not a hint of fish taste to any of the dish, and some pretty wilted samphire alongside…so for a price tag of £22 this was an extremely underwhelming dish! Hubby’s scampi was actually soggy, and tasted like a very cheap supermarket version, accompanied by some pretty tasteless mushy peas. At no point did anyone ask if everything was ok with our meals, and even on paying the £58 bill still nothing offered by way of how our food had been. To summarise, dire food and equally dire and uninterested staff!!

Very good value. Comfy room, excellent breakfast, good pub food in evening and very helpful staff. The location is ideal for visiting the sites of Northumbria. The Anglers Arms itself is located in a very quiet and peaceful position although close to main A roads for easy access.

Although off the beaten track, the Anglers Arms is a Fantastic place to stay. Situated a few miles North of Morpeth in Beautiful countryside. The rooms are Clean and spacious with on suit shower room, the food is superb and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Had a minor problem first night but rectified very Quickley, Definitely worth a visit. And with a river right across the road, it's an Anglers dream.
