Loved our 1 night stay at The Angler's Arms. The staff were very welcoming on arrival and throughout our stay. The room was comfortable and well equipped, and the food was excellent. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to others.

We were traveling south from the north of Scotland and decided at the last minute to break the journey, and continue in the morning.. We arrived at the hotel at 1940hrs to discover food was served up until 2000 hrs. The staff were friendly and welcoming and said not to worry there was plentybof time to order food. So after being shown to our room. We made our way back tol the bar. After actiring day driving we were starving and the food didn't disappoint. My 3 times cooked chips were delicious and the fish was perfectly cooked. We retired afterwards for an early night. Often in these old pubs the on suite bathroom can be a let down. But not this time. It was modern tiled and in good working order. The room was small but clean and the bed was comfortable. In the morning we went down for breakfast to be met again by more friendly staff. After the obligatory reverting back to childhood with cocco pops I had egg benedict which was delicious with the eggs done with proper runny yolks To some up our stay, friendlycstaff, great food, decent room and not to expensive. So would happily recommend

Excellent lunch at Anglers Arms today. Great quality, portion size and value. Service was excellent from the whole team. Highly recommended. Could have quite easily stayed longer in front of the lovely fire. It has been refurbed to a high standard and looking forward to our stay in April.

Superb lunch starting with soup of the day which was interesting and flavoursome. One of us had tempura prawns which were superb, cooked to perfection and garnished with fresh chillies and spring onions. Mains… chicken supreme adapted for dairy free, rolled feather blade of beef was slow cooked and delicious and tender. Thai curry was delicious again with fresh and flavoursome garnish and ingredients. Finished with crème brûlée again very good. We got a really warm welcome from the team and our pet lab was fussed and given treats which was very kind. We also got to try some dishes during a photo shoot which were delicious . The steak was wonderful and the forthcoming afternoon tea option looked and tasted fantastic. Certainly looks like it’s worth booking for a future visit . The pub has also had a refurbishment since our last visit and was hugely improved and we sat near the roaring open fire which made for a perfect long lunch visit. Thank you for your hospitality.

I have to say that the lunch we just had at The Anglers Arms was the best I’ve ever eaten. It was a valentines special menu and we had the chateaubriand sharer for the mains, tempura prawns for starters & baileys cheesecake for dessert. I’m already looking forward to going back and trying more from the menu! Absolutely fantastic. The staff were so friendly and made the whole experience even better. A strong 10/10 :)

Lovely Sunday lunch with plenty of roast pork, stuffing and a variety of vegetables. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Others had fish and chips and were as equally impressed- huge piece of fish, accompanied with mushy peas, curry sauce too. Busy little pub with friendly vibe and super attentive staff. Would totally recommend a visit.

Great little pub! Have visited twice now - stayed in the cottage with my family for a birthday celebration and it was a brilliant stay. Super comfy beds, really clean, well-equipped kitchen. They even left a bottle of bubbles and a cake for my birthday, which was super thoughtful. We can’t wait to visit again!
