Every object in this 250-year-old house is about 50 years old, and bugs fly out of every cabinet door 🤢 Suitable for Halloween lovers...
The only bright spot is that the family heir, Ms. Louise, is very enthusiastic and takes the unfrightened families to feed calves, wild boars and several horses in the morning.

The building itself is 200 years old, with two bedrooms that can sleep 7 people. There are spider webs and small insects like ants in the house. The laundry room is shared, but there are only three cottages in total, so you can wash clothes, and it's free.

Beautiful cottages, friendly staff, an amazing farm location - this place has it all. If you're looking for a country-style retreat for peace and quiet and to immerse yourself in local history then this is the place for you. I've stayed here twice now and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone and everyone.

We had a lovely stay in the Old Farm Cottage for 2 nights. It was comfortable and clean with plenty of breakfast items provided. The grounds were really interesting with all the old buildings and equipment. We did the walk to Woolmers Estate next door which is definitely worth a visit too. It was so peaceful and quiet - I wish we had stayed longer.

Brickendon is a unique quintessential experience ‘ steeped in history with modern day convenience’. It is so special to stay in the farm cottages and wake up to a beautiful golden dawn.

A fascinating place with genuine historic value and authenticity. Nothing here is faked up for the tourists. It’s a real, living cultural landscape showing how a single family has loved and cared for the place for almost 200 years without significant change, yet remaining a real working farm, including a beautiful Georgian house (not open inside because it remains the family’s home), gardens with magnificent trees and plantings; and of course the unique barns and many intact farm buildings and animals that can be visited. A 1hr walk connects Brickendon to the neighbouring estate of Woolmers through the paddocks. We spent all day there and could easily have spent another full day.
