Lovely room clean and spacious,lots of tea coffee and good biscuits + bottles of water, Full range of breakfast and a cooked , large car park with a large enclosed garden great for dogs No other inn has a garden only court yard , landlord is at your service to make the stay enjoyable

Very enjoyable stay! We had a lovely stay. The hosts were welcoming and friendly - they clearly enjoy and take pride in their job. The room was clean, comfortable and well stocked with amenities (after a long day the hot chocolate was well needed!). Breakfast in the morning was excellent quality.

Check in was very easy, very friendly reception from Richard who showed us to our room. The room was very clean, well stocked with tea and coffee, milk and bottled water. Plenty of complementary toiletries. The ensuite was very tiny but clean. Bed was firm but comfortable. Location was great for Halstead's High Street. Unfortunately for us, a fellow guest was very unwell in the room next to ours and as the walls were paper thin, we didn't get a good night's sleep. Although this is not under the control of the hotel, I think maybe they need to look at some sound proofing between the rooms - our bed was just a stud wall away from next doors bathroom - not the best thing to experience on a night away! The overall look of the building needs a bit of attention. The pub's broken toilet windows are not very welcoming and make you wonder, on arrival, if youve made the right decision. I wouldnt stay again but if we'd have had other "neighbours" then maybe that opinion would be different.
