Comfort Inn & Suites Mundelein-Vernon Hills

Booked room for 3 nights. Never told the pool was down, green and disgusting. Been down since May! Well worn, sub par place. Mold on walls, on ceiling. Fridge never defrosted. Breakfast. Lol. Waffles, toast, bagels, fruit.. no juice, often empty. Went by the name, and some reviews, that were way outdated. Too much money spent on a crappy place. Stay somewhere else!!!

Stayed for 3 days on a business trip. Pool / hot tub was closed, possibly for renovations. Average breakfast. Clean room and friendly service personnel. Did see ants around entry ways. Overall decent for the price, but nothing to shout home about.

For the price and relative convenience of location, this hotel was adequate . The pool was out of commission…. There’s nothing else I can add altho i’m supposed to use up 200 characters I’m wanting folks to know my experience

When you look on the travel sites at this hotel , they show a really nice well kept place, example the first picture is this beautiful pool, reality the pool is a swamp and has been for years. The reception area they show nice , in reality it is covered in signs, pool closed, no housekeeping for 7 days (that's nasty) , the breakfast what a joke stale bagel , bread, pancake maker , no coffee ...horrible

Unfortunately, this is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. The room didn't lock, so we had to move. The room we moved to smelled of horrible stale smoke, soot stains on walls, white powdery material all over A/C unit, floor corners, bed dust ruffle and door. Pool was not working, which is main reason we booked and nobody let us know. Overall, smelled of smoke and also had lots of random people outside the building smoking and hanging out/riding bikes! Very unsafe feeling and beyond 'dirty.'

I have stayed at this hotel in years past with mixed reviews. Last year the air conditioner did not work in the lobby, and the air conditioner in our room was not able to keep up with the heat of summer. This year the lobby was fine and our room actually cooled very well. I found the hotel clean and our room was clean also. Obviously, many (lower end) motels have not returned to the pre-covid breakfast with eggs, meat, etc in addition to the standard fair of toast, waffles and donuts. They had waffles, bagels, bread for toast (individually wrapped of course.) They had apples and oranges, but NO JUICE, no yougart, no milk and the only cereal was instant packs of oatmeal. They had one dispenser for regular coffee and one for decalf, but they were small and always running out. The staff made no effort to come out of their caged desk area and check or clean tables even when there were plenty of people eating breakfast. Regarding staff, I have stayed there off and on for several years (using Wyndham Rewards points) and have gotten used to the fact that the staff apparently has no training or desire to show good customer service. They still have their plastic covid screen up (which is fine), but the staff does not smile, thank-you for being a customer, or do anything special to make you appreciated, and this is not just one person on one visit. This seems to be the norm. And the pool is still "closed for maintenance" which it has for the last serval visits.

Do not stay here. Completely run down. My entire soccer team stayed here unfortunately and unable to get other hotel. The whole place was dirty, hallways piled high with stinky garbage, there were actaul dumpsters of rancid garbage in the stairwell inside that made the hotel stink. All of our rooms needed to be wiped down they were dirty. Shower had mold as did the bagels for breakfast. Beds were fulls not queens as outlined and uncomfortable with 4 in a room. We were charged full price and more without any compensation or even trying to make it right.

Most dirty and disgusting place I've stayed. Long-term residents that smoke inside, mini trash dumpster kept inside the building at an entrance that completely wreaked, rooms smell of dogs and/or musty, pool and other amenities out of service/unavailable I'm guessing because they're trying to get the long term residents to leave.
