The Stafford is a small 5 Star and used to be the ”sister hotel to the Ritz”. It was forced to close during Covid on a number of occasions so we haven't visited for 3 years. If anything it's even better now than it was - quite a feat. We were given a Deluxe King on the third floor, a nice room with a view over the terrace/courtyard. My lady who is quite small found the bed quite high to get into (as usual, they really are quite high) but one of the most comfortable of any hotel we've stayed in, ever. Room service is precise and speedy and the Room service menu ranges across both the Restaurant and American Bar menus - we'll give a name check to Mahir who went over and above on a number of occasions. We decided to eat outside where possible due to Covid so the American Bar Terrace hosted by Viviana looked after us splendidly. The food is splendid. The Hotel has lost its ”Super Doorman”, Charlie and Head Concierge of years, Frank, but has replaced them with excellent and very personable staff. In all a wonderful 8 day break and it was good to be back 'home'. Highly recommended for those who like smaller luxury hotels with traditional 5 Star service where nothing is too much trouble with no corners cut.

Truly an experience. My wife and I brought my mom to London for her 80th birthday, as afternoon tea at The Ritz was still on her bucket list. She had no idea I booked our stay there as well, and the Rolls Royce pickup from the airport. The hotel itself is what you expect, the Luis XVI style common areas and rooms are beautiful, but what really makes the place memorable, are the people. From our first contact with Johan, and our check in with Giacomo, Gavin, Roberto everyone was fantastic throughout our stay. The amount of time that the folks at reception are willing to spend just chatting and sharing stories with you is something you just don't find elsewhere. Many thoughtful interactions with my mom as the whole place seemed to know her big birthday was coming up. It was the experience of a lifetime. Thank you everyone at the Ritz for making it happen.

The Dilly was probably amazing in the 1980's and 1990's but not much has been updated since then! We stayed in a Dilly Classic room which was perfectly fine, a good size, clean with strong Wifi. The shower was powerful and there was plenty of hot water. I know some people on this site weren't impressed by the breakfast but I thought it was great. Obviously, the location is fabulous. However, I didn't feel the room was up to five-star standard. The coffee was instant and the milk small UHT cartons. There was no fridge or mini-bar (though we were in the 'cheapest' room so may be different elsewhere). The toiletries were cheap and basic (so bring your own), there was no plug by the bed to charge devices overnight and no Blu-tooth speaker which seems to be a given now in higher-end hotels. The style of the room itself was quite dated including the landline next to the toilet which I'm sure was incredibly cool in 1986 :) Overall, if this was a three-or-four-star hotel I'd give it full marks, but as it's a five-star, (and more importantly charging five-star prices), it's lacking in some areas. I believe the hotel is currently 'between owners' which makes sense, as I guess the current owners don't want to invest and are ticking along until the new ones take over. It's not dreadful by any means, but they charge a lot for what you get.

Good location, right next to Trafalgar Square, next to Tesco express and Macdonald. The hotel room is also large. Friendly service, you can order Chinese food with just eat. The room has a microwave. Hygiene is average, seems gray, and the bathroom has a slight odor. There is no own parking lot. There is a cooperative parking lot on the other side of the square. You can park temporarily at the door and drop your luggage before going to the parking lot. Parking is 44 pounds a day and about 37 pounds with a hotel coupon. There are actually two hotels here, one is grand and the other is cq. I booked grand but lived in Cq. I do n’t know how to arrange it. When the hotel is not busy, it is sold at 7-800, and the price is good. After all, it is close to the Thames and other attractions.

W/End away in London. We were looking for a hotel close to the river Thames & St. Catherine’s Docks inc. Tower Bridge & St. Paul’s Cathedral. Eventually we found the Clubquaters Hotel in St. Paul’s. which was was spot on for location. The hotel was superb, great facilities, inc. a gym. the room was lovely, Reception staff were very helpful. Just off the Reception is a direct link door to the superb Cotes Restaurant, so we could start our day off with a great Full English Breakfast. Yum…Yum it was spot on! The location of the hotel is superb….St. Paul’s Cathedral right next door…a Bell Ring away….the River Thames including the famous Millennium Bridge, a short walk away. Close to St. Paul’s Underground along with city bus stops and numerous extremely convenient shops., couldn’t fault it. Spot on!

A hop, skip and a jump to Piccadilly Underground and a short walking distance to Pall Mall, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and Big Ben! The staff are all very professional and courteous and always greeted me with a smile each day. The onsite bar and restaurant were fantastic and the in-room dining menu offered many delicious options! This hotel really is our home from home. This visit was booked so we could attend the theatre and see Sister Act. We received a very warm welcome from the doorman John as he welcomed us back to the hotel. It is lovely that you are remembered and greeted so warmly. At checkin we were allocated a room at the back of the hotel with a courtyard view. We always ask to have a street view room so we’re disappointed. Very quickly this was acknowledged and a new room was allocated. After a quick freshen up we headed for afternoon tea. We have enjoyed afternoon tea here before, but new cakes and such a varied array of teas makes this an joyous adventure all over again. The service is second to none and so much food to enjoy. John arranged a taxi for us in readiness for the theatre so we could relax before we left. On return from the theatre we enjoyed the cocktails in Donovan’s bar and the bar tender and waiter were an asset to the team, so friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. After a fantastic nights sleep and an amazing breakfast in our room, it was time to check out. It is always sad to leave such amazing surroundings and staff, but we are looking forward to visiting the Rocco Forte sister hotel in Rome in September and returning to our home from home Brown’s in October!

However, the room is relatively small, the air conditioner will make a lot of noise when it is turned on, the hot water supply in the bathroom is extremely unstable at night, and the sound of dripping water from the bathroom shower at night affects sleep, it is recommended to replace it. Breakfast is only served in cold cuts, and hot food costs extra. Should not stay again.
