Great location only 5 minutes from Angel tube station. Breakfast was lovely, tasty, well cooked and lots of choice. Rooms were a decent size and clean, with effective air conditioning.
The only negatives were that we asked for room on a quieter side of the building and I was woken at 6.30 am with the bottle bin being emptied along with all the trollies of bedding and towels being delivered, we were clearly over the service entrance! Also the reception smelt of vomit… unsure why but it was constant during our stay.
The milk was not replenished for the tea and coffee in the room and had to ask for this.

I was booking with bunk bed and then I upgraded it to private pod which is 18 person in the room. In the room itself has a basin and a mirror, but it’s literally in front of other bed. I feel stress stepping in front of others’ area to use the basic, so mostly of the time I was going to share the bathroom. Its bathroom is separated female and male. Female has only 1 basin. Sometimes you have to wait – didn’t think it can be used with 2 people at the same time. It’s extremely small.
My pod come with a curtain. It has 2 lights – you can adjust the light colour tone as warm or cold. The entrance of the pod has a little fan. It was summer, so it’s super hot. I ended up sleeping my head toward the entrance, and my legs are the most in in the pod... so the fans can directly blow on my face.

The view outside the window is beautiful and peaceful. There is a 24-hour front desk, and you can ask for more towels and toiletries if you run out. The shower room in the bathroom is too small, making it difficult to turn around. The room lighting is too dim. The soundproofing is poor, and footsteps from upstairs can be heard clearly.

I am satisfied with the location and the modern environment of the hotel itself (not the unreasonable tiny space of a standard double room - a pot 8sqm double room), but this is the worst hotel experience my family and I have ever had.
My mother is an old lady who is almost 70 years old. She fell down at the hotel entrance on the day we checked in. We noticed that the ground at the hotel entrance was designed with a ramp to facilitate access for disabled people who need to use wheelchairs, but there was a small gap and height difference between the entrance and the ramp, which caused my mother to fall very badly.
We booked the pot 8sqm double room for 4 nights in this hotel, the space was really incredibly small. The only thing I could thought of was to ask the hotel whether they could upgrade us to a slightly larger room to accommodate an injured elderly person, and the hotel catered our needs. The Front Office and Operations Manager Rax explained that due to the design of the hotel, the small rooms are on the floors above the ground, whilst the large rooms are in the basement of the hotel, so the only room we can move to is located in the basement of the hote, and we could only be able to move on the second day of our stayl. Although this statement is not very reasonable, the situation in the basement is acceptable.
The second unpleasant and terrifying experience was that I was taking a shower in the bathroom in the room while my mother was having coffee in the hotel lobby at night, and there was no one else in the room except me. While I was showering, the lights in the bathroom suddenly went out completely, while the water was still running normally. This was definitely the most horrible hotel experience ever. I was so flustered, trying so hard to find the water faucet in the dark and turn it off. Once I opened the glass door of the shower room, the lights came back on. I hurriedly finished my shower and went to the hotel front desk, I saw Rax and reported this issue to him.
From his reaction to me when he knew about this, I didn't feel that he had any empathy or sympathy for the terrible thing I had gone through. He explained that the hotel had a new motion sensor that would cause the lights in the room to turn off if there was no movement in the room. He even argued with me that it wasn't a big deal that the light went out during the shower.
I suggested that he could explain this new feature of their hotel to guests when they check in, so that if guests encounter a similar situation, at least they will feel less panicked. He told me that even if he knew it in advance, he would not feel better. I was really amazed by the responses as a Front Office and Operations Manager.
On the third day of our stay, when I was putting on makeup in the room and getting ready to go out, the alarm suddenly sounded. When we were trying to calm down from the unpleasant experiences we had encountered in just two days, suddenly these things that made us irritable and uneasy happened again, which really drive us crazy. I then met the Front Office Supervisor Asher at the lobby, he tried to understand our experiences patiently, and gave apologies on behalf of the hotel. He offered us free breakfast on the forth day morning which we did not ask for. Asher also talked to me sincerely, and that he would talk to the General Manager of the hotel about our case, and let the GM to have a talk with us too. I think this is the kind of attitude and crisis handling method a hotel employee should have.
Finally I want to say that although my family and I have been a member of the Marriott group for many years, we will no longer stay in any of their hotels and any type of accommodation.

Smallest room we have ever stayed in, no access to one side of the bed without climbing over partner. Bed was comfortable though. Bathroom tiny, shower tiles not as clean as we would like at the bottom, but that is very common. Comfortable common spaces in lobby. Annoying to have to pay to store luggage for a couple of hours as having paid a pretty high price for a very small room.
Staff friendly, comfortable clean bed, good air conditioning.

Room a little small but very clean, and comes with a fan, hairdryer, clean towels, coffee and tea facilities - i got the front room facing street so it was noisy when the street cleaners came to clean but its expected noise from a big city like london! Very convenient location - literally across the road from St Pancras/Kings Cross station. I would recommend for no-fuss travellers who only want a private room to sleep and shower in. Staff friendly, and you can leave your bag until 12am when you check out at no extra charge, which is very convenient.

The room is pretty clean and new. Even though it is pretty small but we never expected it to be spacious anyway as we prefer small and cozy one. Window, bed, shower room and lighting are all great! The location is perfect easy to walk around and very near King's Cross station. Free coffee and tea at the cafe' across the entrance hall is a plus. Nice space to sit it. Recommended for people who don't need spacious room.

Great location, otherwise average.
It was great as a transit hotel (needed to travel by train to other places across a few days) but it was not a particularly noteworthy hotel stay experience otherwise.
We always had to ask for still water from reception (it wasn't always automatically refilled) and when we asked earlier in the morning before 8:30, we were told that housekeeping wasn't up yet (although reception did bring it to us. The elevators also need to be fixed - we were stuck in the middle elevator for a bit when the lift did not open to our level. The elevator on the right also needs to be fixed - the level indicator display was broken. Overall, I found the furniture of the hotel to be a bit old and the hotel can do with a freshening up. We also had some tech issue with card keys which didn’t work and we had to go down to the lobby twice to get them fixed.

Hosts were welcoming and offered to carry my luggage to my room on arrival which I was so happy about has our room was right at the top and 8 flights of stairs, cosy clean room for me and my son unfortunately we didn't have our own shower and toilet but there was a very tiny shower room across from us and when I say tiny I mean the size of a touring caravan bathroom! The television was annoying has it kept losing signal but because we wasn't in the room much it wasn't a big issue, very close to kings cross station and plenty of places to eat out, the host told us we could leave our luggage in our room for them to carry down and store for us after checkout if we wanted to collect later before our train home. The only downside to our stay was the extreme noise very early in the morning coming from the construction site opposite apart from that we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again if we could get a room on the lower floor.

GGuest UserWe had such an outstanding stay here for my birthday. Our experience started at reception the staff were so helpful, we arrived early before the check in time, this wasn’t an issue and were shown to an upgraded room.
This hotel has so much history and wonderful architecture it’s a must to visit especially if you also like trains. We can’t wait to return for our next visit. Thank you for such a memorable time.

DDracupidThe room is okay but in the basement. Understandable for the cheap price comparing to surrounding hotels. There is a minor smell in the room due to old building but it is not too bad. Location is great to the train station.

GGuest UserService: The front desk clerk is very warm and will answer all questions.
The room is quite big and the air conditioning is sufficient. The hotel is conveniently located by subway, bus and train. From the airport, you can take the train directly to the hotel.

GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is very convenient, the only downside is that there is no elevator. It is not recommended to rent this hotel if you need to bring large luggage.
In addition, the bathroom area in the hotel is also very narrow, and I, weighing over 90 pounds, could just squeeze in.

MMINGRUIThe transportation is very convenient. The subway Russell Square Station is a short walk away. It is very close to St. Pancras Station, the British Museum, the British Library, and the University of London. The room and bathroom are small, but clean and tidy. The only drawback is that there is no elevator.

GGuest UserThe service staff attitude is good, the hotel is very bright, clean and tidy, although the room is not large, but the basic facilities are acceptable. Comfortable stay because were very clean. The most important thing is that the lighting is enough. The bathroom has sensors as long as the bed automatically turns on the lights as soon as there is movement. This is commendable.
