On my recent visit to The Wellesley Hotel in London, I was looking forward to spending a quiet evening smoking a cigar, an activity I have enjoyed at this place since 2017. I was surprised by an unexpected reception when I tried to book a table. A person dressed in a black suit, with an arrogant attitude, informed me that they do not reserve tables and that if I wanted to sit, I had to do so immediately. This behavior was shocking and unexpected from a hotel with the reputation of The Wellesley. Despite this poor reception, I decided to return in the evening to enjoy my usual time. Unfortunately, the same person greeted me with the same arrogance and told me that all the tables were reserved. I did not expect a well-known hotel like The Wellesley to treat its customers in this manner, especially since I have been a regular patron for years. This person's unprofessional and disrespectful behavior significantly affected my experience at the place. I would not recommend visiting this hotel to anyone seeking courteous and respectful service. **Negative Points:** 1. **Poor Reception:** The treatment was arrogant and disrespectful. 2. **Lack of Professionalism:** The way I was informed about the inability to reserve a table was inappropriate. 3. **Service Inconsistency:** In my evening visit, I was told that all tables were reserved, raising questions about the professionalism of the person in charge. My experience at The Wellesley Hotel was disappointing, and I will not be returning to this place again.

The hotel has an art deco 1920,s feel but the staff and poor attitudes let it down The staff were stern and unwelcoming They were robotic We had a superior room and was not told we only had a continental breakfast included before we chose our full breakfast at an additional cost The room service items were ordered but when My pregnant daughter checked out and ordered a coffee she was asked to leave because she opened a sandwich she had bought outside They declared it was policy and she must eat it elsewhere Horrendous when she was alone in the waiting area about to travel back to the uae We will not visit again

My husband and I stayed at The Wellesley Knightsbridge for one weekend in May 2024. We actually live in London, but we were there to celebrate several special occasions: one year since moving from New York to London, my upcoming birthday, and our pre-Seychelles honeymoon. As a self-employed sustainable tourism consultant with a background in tourism and hospitality, I learned about this legendary hotel through my Marriott Bonvoy program. We had an amazing weekend at the hotel. The room was comfortable, and we felt truly valued as guests and as Marriott Bonvoy elite members. We dined at The Oval Restaurant twice for dinner and breakfast, both of which were exceptional. I upgraded my complimentary continental breakfast to a full English breakfast, and the quality of the food was simply the best. We also tried the special Churchill blend tea, specifically designed for the guests here, which was an experience I’ve never had anywhere else. We visited the signature cigar bar and learned a lot about the knowledge and history of cigars, even though neither my husband nor I smoke. Every staff member we encountered throughout our stay, from the front desk to the concierge to the doorman and restaurant staffs, were professional and friendly. We felt a warm, family-like vibe here. I received a surprising birthday dessert and a handwritten birthday card with signatures from everyone, including people I met and some I didn’t get a chance to meet. I've already decided to revisit this hotel and probably bring more friends who will visit me in London. I wish the entire team all the best and can't wait to see them again. Thank you all for making my one-year anniversary of being a Londoner special and memorable.

Where can I start, this hotel is out of this world. From the moment you step outside you are made to feel very welcome. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the rooms are beautiful especially the bathroom. The bed was so comfy I didn’t want to leave. Would I stay here again?? Without hesitation the best hotel I’ve ever been too. Thankyou for an amazing stay xxx

The staff were the most welcoming, kindest people. We had a terrible experience with a Airbnb and they were able to find us a room on short notice. They were willing to accommodate our every need. The food and drinks were wonderful. Highly recommend this to any traveler.

We spent 2 nights in this fantastic boutique hotel in Knightsbridge. Everything was perfect! Since the arrival the spoiled us with attention and kindness. Thank you so much for your hospitality. Top location, wonderful suite, impeccable service. One of the best in London. I will come back soon!

The rooms are wonderful and the services provided are impeccable. I would highly recommend this hotel for its services and location. They offer complimentary chauffeur services to local attractions and restaurants. Our luggage was damaged in-transit and they attempted to get it repaired for us. Very helpful staff. Entertainment in the lounge on weekends.

Simply the best service I’ve had on a hotel. It was our 25 yr anniversary and they put some rose petals in my bed. We had an early flight and they waited on the transportation with my wife’s coffee… Impressive. I appreciate the elegance and quality, yet service was above any expectations.

I stayed in The Wellesley for 1 night. This is my second time at the hotel. The last time was a few years ago during the Christmas period and I had good memories so wanted to try again. Sadly, I found this time extremely disappointing. The staff are extremely snooty. No one is smiling or makes you feel welcome. I was checking in before my husband and they kept asking when he will come (even though my name was on the booking) therefore when he was coming is irrelevant. I was told at check in I can either have complimentary breakfast or points towards bonvoy so I opted for breakfast. Upon leaving the breakfast the next morning they asked me to sign for the extra charges because we ordered hot food - no one had told me ordering eggs would cost an extra £20. This should have been communicated. I asked for late check out since I am a bonvoy ambassador elite, this is one of the perks but was only given 1pm. Therefore, I left my luggage with the concierge and when I got back to the hotel around 5pm, I asked where I can sit and have a coffee. They showed me to the non smoking area at the front (opposite the cigar lounge). The room was empty and I grabbed a sandwich out my bag as I’m 6 months pregnant, I wanted to quickly eat and have my coffee before the airport. The member of staff came and told me I can’t eat outside food there. I said there is no one here, it’s a small sandwich and no rubbish will be left anywhere. He got the manager in who continued to tell me I needed to move. I’m a paying guest. I am 6 months pregnant. They didn’t give me late check out. They couldn’t let me just sit down for 10 minutes? Instead needed to bother me and hover around me like I’m carrying a weapon - it was a small sandwich. I got up and cancelled the coffee and went and got my luggage which no one helped me with. Again, a pregnant woman and no one assists me with 2 suitcases. It’s my mistake for choosing this hotel over The Edition, where I usually stay and have never been treated in this way. I will continue going there next time. The Wellesley is tired interior compared to it and the staff are not anywhere near as welcoming.
