Our recent stay at this hotel was quite pleasant overall. We were apprehensive initially as we were given a room in the basement, but it turned out to be a fairly large, well-ventilated room with a window on one side which let in sunlight.
The shower cubicle and the wash basin were designed for undernourished kids though!
The room was cleaned every day and towels and sheets were changed, so that was good.
The reception staff were perfunctory, but Rohit Sriguru was an exception. He is very friendly, helpful and a fund of information!
Breakfast was wholesome and sumptuous although the assistant in the dining area would do well to smile more often! She seemed worried that guests would sneak in for a free meal and has apparently made it her life's mission to stoutly (pun unintended) defend her bastion against such freeloaders !!!!
The best part about this hotel is its location. It is a few minutes walk from Paddington and Bayswater tube stations and is therefore very accessible. The sprawling Kensington gardens and a variety of food joints are just a short walk away.
There are no lifts in this hotel, so if you're traveling with heavy bags and/or elderly folk, be warned!
All told, if you're looking for a decent place to stay for a couple of nights in a quiet neighborhood in central London at a price that's reasonable, you could do a lot worse than this!
Cheers!!
