I was attending the Festival of Remembrance. I booked this hotel in August. On Arrival i presented the person with all CONFIRMED booking details. He spent 5 minutes tapping keys on his computer to tell me that they cancelled my booking and sent me a cancellation Email. Now me and my wife stood in the hallway checking all emails as we don't tend to turn up somewhere knowing it has been cancelled. No email of cancellation. I explained this to the now rude person and showed we had no cancellation and could he show us the proof. He didn't show us and was not interested that we didnt have a room. I cant comment on the cleanliness of rooms etc as we didnt get anywhere near one. Me and my wife then had to leave as he was very rude and unhelpful, so stood in the street we desperately need another hotel. Luckily there is one round the corner for the exact same price that was very welcoming and professional (Copthorne Tara). Me personally I would avoid this unprofessional hotel.

I foolishly ignored the bad reviews about this place, and I completely regret it. We booked the hotel one month in advance and noted in their website that our flight arrived after 10pm. They had a field specifically for that, so we assumed it would be fine. However, the day we were due to arrive, they emailed to confirm the check-in time, saying it wouldn't be possible after 9pm, leaving us with nowhere to stay for the night. Their passive-aggressive emails and made it clear they couldn't care less about their guests. We found another place to stay that night, which I now regret not booking for the whole stay. When we finally did check in the next day, the room was awful. It was tiny and dirty – the walls were filthy, and the space was so cramped that there wasn’t even a spot to hold the soap in the shower. The shower itself was a joke: water pressure was terrible, the drain didn’t work, and I was left standing in a pool of water every time. On top of that, we found little hairs all over the pillows. When we asked to have the pillows changed, we could see they were bothered by our request. They showed no regard for our comfort or safety. If you need help past 9pm, forget about it — there’s no one in the hotel (could this really be called a hotel?), which is especially alarming if you’re in London at night. And also, if you need to call them past that time you have to pay a fee of 100 pounds! Unbelievable! I regret not listening to the other bad reviews. Save yourself the hassle and stay elsewhere!

Room itself was clean and we received an unexpected upgrade from a small room. Bed was very comfortable & tea/coffee making facilities good (nespresso). Bathroom itself was clean .. HOWEVER bin in there had not been emptied & still had previous occupants used sanitary products in & old food in the fridge. Needs more attention to detail on the cleaning side.

Fabulous hotel. Incredibly clean, very quiet and very close to Kensington High Street. Easy to get to from Paddington. Came overnight with my young son. Our room was just what we needed - bathroom and shower were great and newly decorated and modern - lovely complimentary toiletries. Great Nespresso machine. Lovely helpful staff on reception who took the time to chat to my son which was much appreciated. About to try the cafe on the corner! Thanks so much will defo come again. Excellent stay at ridiculously reasonable price for location!

Hotel is at a nice location in the middle of Kensington, right off High Street. It has access to many shops and transport options. Rooms are small (as many UK hotels in London) but clean, with a good bed, linoleum/tile floors, and a nice shower. Even Nespresso coffee machine and cookies are provided. The reason we did not give five stars is that the walls are very thin and depending on your room neighbors, it can be difficult to sleep at night. The shower is also a bit small and air-conditioning rattles. But all in all we had an enjoyable staystay and can recommend!

Reading the reviews after I booked this hotel I was worried about what I was going to! Our experience was absolutely fine. If you are aware of the hotel rules regarding check in/check out times and possible charges for out of hours calls or lost key cards, there wasn’t an issue for us. I had contacted them several times through *********** and got instant replies. I asked for a quiet room and was put in No.13, which was adequate and off the road. The rooms are small, but have everything you need including fridge, microwave, tea/coffee etc,. We were greeted at the door by the reception staff and he checked us in, checked our card was working for our room and outside door (for access later after we came back from a show). The reception times don’t seem to be consistent as when we checked in at 4pm, they went home. On our departure, we met people trying to get access from 9am, but the reception didn’t turn up until 10.30am. I would suggest keeping them informed to get access when needed. We however, had no issue. We had breakfast across at the Muffin Man Cafe across the road. It doesn’t have a hotel sign outside and again we met people who weren’t sure they were at the right place. For the money and location, we were happy with our stay.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights. We needed a hotel that was in a safe, pleasant area, while also not being too far from transport links and areas of interest. Hotels in the area were very expensive in comparison, so CG Kensington seemed a bargain. It’s on a street just off the main high street and nearby a tube station, which is very handy. The room was small, but we were under no illusion that we’d get much bigger for how cheap it was to book. Our room was clean and modern, with a great power shower (which was an unexpected bonus). The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed having a coffee machine with tasty biscuits! The staff we encountered were also very friendly and always said hello when we passed the reception. Tip: to have new towels left and old ones taken away, we realised you probably need to put the tag on the door to let them know you want your room serviced. We didn’t realise this until our last day! They do come and make your bed/ tidy regardless, but we were using the same towels for the trip and the hand towel disappeared after the first day with no replacement.
