I stay in hotels weekly and never have I walked in and immediately wanted to leave a hotel room. After walking to the address around 11 pm we saw a note in the door that said to go to another location to check in. After an international flight dragging our luggage further wasn’t enjoyable. We picked this location because of it’s proximity to the train station. Eventually we got checked in and found our room. The hallway was full of building materials and tools to the point that we couldn’t even get our luggage down the hall without picking it up over our heads. In fact, when we opened the door a bunch of 2x4’s fell down onto our feet from the pile of building materials. Our room (#6) was obviously not anything like any of the pictures on the website. It was also obviously not cleaned. There was hair all over the pillows and sheets including entire clumps on the bathroom floor. There was a small “kitchen area” complete with a dirty sponge. Most everything was stained including the sheets and towels. The room’s furniture was literally falling apart. The bed was creaky and the mattress was uncomfortable. It looked and felt like they furnished it with furniture all the other hotels were getting rid of. The TV was completely broken, there was no hot water for the first 2 nights, and honestly it was the worst hotel/hostel experience I’ve ever had. When we reported these things to the staff they listened but refused to cancel our reservation even after seeing it themselves. The staff at reception were the only decent thing about this place. They did have the cleaners come back in and put us in a different (yet equally outdated and disappointing room) for the first night. Please please do not show up to this place expecting what you see in pictures. In my opinion, we were completely taken advantage of and this experience put a dark spot on our time in London.

The worst of the worst. It's so dirty and smelly that I can't breathe. The windows won't close and the windows are all rotten so they won't close. Even though I was smoking a lot downstairs, they wouldn't change my room. I was so fed up with it that I changed my room, but the electricity went out all night. The front desk is not in the same building and it is the front desk where people leave work at night. I couldn't charge my phone all night, I couldn't use the hair dryer or microwave, the refrigerator ran out of water, and all the food rotted. In Europe, it's an accommodation, a store, and it's hard to find refrigerators and microwaves, so I paid a lot of money to reserve a place to deliberately heat it in the microwave and eat hot food, but the electricity was out and it was dirty, and the room was so full of cigarette smell that I couldn't breathe, and the radiators, doors, and windows were so dirty. Cleanliness beyond imagination everywhere. Even the door handles are rattling and there is nothing that is not at the level of a violation of human rights, let alone common sense. This level is abuse and a violation of human rights. How can you possibly think of selling something like this for money? The bed's wires were all broken and protruding, so I couldn't lie down on my back. The bed was wobbly, the wires got stuck, and the bones were twisted and bent because it was unbalanced. The bed bends, tilts, and stabs as if it were going downhill. If you have a conscience, give Trip.com a refund. Newsgam Hotel.

The bedroom and bathroom are quite narrow. There is almost no place to put it. Strong water, free WiFi, but in the room the signal is not good, there is no TV, but overall good, near the train station. Near a mini-mart, suitable for Backpackers..When sleeping late at night, you can hear the sound of people opening and closing doors, the sound of people walking, disturbing when sleeping.

Helpful and friendly staff; very convenient; pretty basic, but clean, comfortable, and excellent value for the money. I will certainly go there again.

Great location, a few minutes from Paddington Station. Not a luxury hotel by any means, but good, clean and safe place to spend the night when visiting London. There was a mix-up with our reservation and we spent our first night in the "penthouse" (up 82 steps with suitcases!). The second night they moved us to a much nicer room. Bathrooms are tiny, but clean. Staff was very friendly. Check your email for instructions to check in, it's at a location around the corner, not at the hotel. But only a 3 min walk.

Very basic room, a tiny toilet/shower cubicle if you can call it that...the decor very old and needs a good refurbishment, along with the carpet on the stairs very old and shabby, i know people say you get what you pay for in london, but i have stayed at a lot better hotels in london for the same price.

We were guests in this hotel. When we arrived we were first told that our room had been given to another due to a mistake. We were nevertheless friendly as visitors and accepted the fact that we were given an extra bed in our room. But when we came into the room and first wanted to use the toilet, the toilet was obviously broken. Because water came out everywhere. After the second day in London we were told the loo would be fixed when we got back to the hotel. When we came and saw that the toilet was "repaired", we ran out of patience. After discussions, a plumber finally came and actually fixed the toilet. If you just need a place to stay, this is the hotel for you. But we didn't want to stay in there any longer than necessary. As described, towels were available but a hair dryer, for example, was not on site.

The location is amazing, but that's just about the only good thing I have to say. The bathroom of the room we stayed in had cockroaches and black mould, and the door to it didn't lock (which isn't ideal when it's a singular bathroom for an 8 person room). The sink in the bathroom also didn't drain. We were afraid to stay the night in case the cockroaches got into our luggage, but it was too late to find another place. I see there are many great reviews for this place, so I sincerely hope the owners sort these unsanitary bathroom conditions out for future guests.
