We had an extremely disappointing and unpleasant experience during our 4-night stay at The Harrington Hotel. The following issues occurred throughout the stay, and unfortunately, none were resolved appropriately despite being reported to the staff:
>> The windows in our room did not close properly, leaving a visible gap between the glass panel and the frame. As a result, outside noise — including traffic and people talking on the street — was clearly heard throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep.
>> We left our room at 8 AM and hung the "Make Up Room" sign on the door before leaving. When we returned at 2 PM, the room had not been cleaned at all. When we asked the housekeeper, she claimed that our room had already been serviced. We showed a photo of the room to the reception staff and asked whether this reflected the hotel's standard of housekeeping. Only after insisting did they agree to send someone to clean the room. This experience was frustrating and showed a lack of basic service attention.
>> The bathroom was poorly equipped. There was no handheld shower, only a rain shower with extremely low water pressure, which made it difficult to use — particularly for children and elderly guests.
>> The toilet was also not suitable for children, and its height and structure were clearly not family-friendly.
>> Staff were consistently unfriendly and inattentive throughout our stay — from check-in to check-out. We did not feel welcomed, valued, or properly assisted at any time.
>> Over four nights, bed sheets and pillowcases were never changed. This was extremely concerning, especially since our child suffers from a dust mite allergy and woke up every morning with skin irritation and itching. This clearly indicated a lack of hygiene and room maintenance.
>> The air conditioning unit in one of the bedrooms was broken and not functioning. We had to sleep with the window open, making it impossible to control the room temperature. We reported this issue to the front desk, and were told that a technician would be sent the next day — but no one ever came, and the issue was never resolved.
>> The main door to the apartment had a lock from the inside that could not be used, posing a serious safety concern. We again reported this to the staff, and were told that it would be checked and fixed the following day. Once again, no action was taken, and no one followed up.
>> Considering the lack of basic hospitality, unresolved technical issues, poor cleanliness, and indifferent service, we found our stay to be deeply unsatisfactory. For a hotel that advertises itself as premium accommodation, the experience fell far below even acceptable standards.
***We do not recommend this hotel, especially to families or anyone expecting a safe, clean, and professionally managed environment.***
