It was a comfortable stay.
There is a pub on the ground floor and accommodation rooms on the upper floors.
I checked in at the pub counter.
You have to climb the stairs to get to your room, so it might be difficult if you have heavy luggage.
The single room I stayed in was an attic room on the top floor, which had a skylight that could be opened, allowing sunlight during the day and moonlight at night, and the view was not bad. Since it is a skylight with a screen, it was possible to darken the room by lowering the screen.
It was convenient to have a TV and a refrigerator in the room.
The shower room and toilet were shared.
You cannot use the kitchen.
Going out after check-in had to go in and out of the back door of the hotel. The lock on the back door took a little trick to open.
An English breakfast was served. It was simple and delicious.
The location is a 10-minute walk from Forest Gate Station. The hotel is located in a residential area, but the sidewalk was uneven and it was difficult to roll my suitcase.

Have been for a drink with friends and just felt really uncomfortable. Staff were incredibly rude and belittling to an old lady who barely spoke English, berating her for it unnecessarily. No one was welcoming, staff were slow to serve us and we felt like an imposition being there. Amenities are very outdated. A real shame. We live nearby so really wish it would get taken over by someone who could make it into a nice, family friendly pub. Only bonus is it’s cheap.

We came here for a couple of pints after buying plants at a garden center nearby. The barmaid Adele was great, really friendly and funny, and made us feel comfortable. I know some of the previous reviews have been a bit spikey, but if your attitude is genuine connection to East London, a relaxed attitude and a bit of fun you will have a nice time. If you have an expectation of the Ritz then that might be your misconception!

We were pleasantly surprised with our one night stay here. We were warmly welcomed, the pub wasn't too busy and friendly. Our room on the top floor was nice, comfy bed, close to the toilet. We came back late but it wasn't a problem as you have a key to the back door. It was a bit noisy in the room nextdoor but not enough to keep us awake, we had earplugs in case but didn't use them. Breakfast was fine. Being veggie we had a lovely big plate of beans and fried eggs and they toasted our gf bread for us. The area is lovely, not far from the station and shops. We would definitely stay there again.
