We found the 'feature boutique' room stylish, spacious, comfortable, quiet and very reasonably priced. The quirky bathroom is luxurious with underfloor heating and the furnished terrace is a rare treat in the city centre. The distinctive pub with beautiful exterior features is in a great location with various modes of transport literally on the doorstep and the bar/restaurant offers an excellent choice of food and drinks in an atmospheric setting. We enjoyed several dishes from the extensive menus plus a good selection of wines during a light lunch, 3 course dinner and breakfast during our one night stay, the beef carpaccio and bacon butty were particularly good. The friendly, welcoming staff are the icing on the cake, all charming and helpful throughout our stay, especially Weronika.

The accommodation is absolutely fantastic, can’t find anywhere better in London . Staff lets it down slightly. We had just got married the day before and when we told them , it was just dismissed… not even congratulations.. on departure I asked if it was cheaper to contact them directly to book again .. was just told ..NO … but I see on the website it asks you to do that .. however food and rooms were incredible and would book this accommodation over any other in London ..

Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Room was very comfortable, beautifully decorated and the bed massive and a great nights sleep! Everything you could possibly need in the room. Very handy for Farringdon and a delicious breakfast the next day. We frequented the Fox and Anchor 40 years ago - a huge improvement from these days!

From entering a charming traditional pub on recommendation from close friends, we immediately recognised that our treat would maybe turn out to be not what we had hoped for! We were eventually greeted by a curt member of staff who questioned our party a number of times to repeat the booking name, then reluctantly directed us to our table. He returned with some cutlery, seemed troubled to advise what drinks you served and then when questioned on the menu, was either irritated, couldn’t be bothered or didn’t know. Culminating in the most confusing explanation leaving us all uncertain as to what we should order. Our meal was delivered one hour after ordering in not the most pleasant of ways, effectively just plonked in front of us, no eye contact or any civility at all . The beef roasts were mediocre at best and the meat was tough(at £30:00). The lamb pies however, were very nice. There was one member of staff, working behind the bar who did attend the table once and was very friendly. On finishing our meal, the dishes were cleared and the lady told us we had 15 minutes in which to order and consume. No time for coffees or anything else. We then questioned why when we have to wait over an hour for our meal should we have to vacate our table in such a short time frame. She offered no reasonable compromise and kept stating that’s the way it is! We were then approached by whom we assume to be the manager. No empathy whatsoever and with iPad in hand, kept stating the same thing. Then exclaimed that we had booked for two hours and that’s that. Not that an extended time was an option from the initial booking or any understanding that their delay in serving created the situation. At one point we questioned him to say, what disturbs us the most is his and the other members attitude. All they were concerned about was their time slot, not remotely interested in how that may have affected us. We stated again, to be honest you don’t really care do you, response, not really, just the way it is and you have to accept your time slot…..appalling! We paid left and will never set foot in your establishment again and will advise others not to either. No compensation offered., not even a coffee. Courtesy costs nothing, appalling service at every level apart from your bar tender!

Bad sleep because aircon unit was faulty (producing loud buzzing noise intermittently through the night). Would do this even when off. Reported to staff but no repair possible because it was weekend. Bought earplugs for second night. Room needed work (stained carpets and walls). Bed was comfy and shower was good. Room was Barbican Room.

Excellent food! The beef carpaccio was a real highlight. The bed and pillows are super comfy. The air conditioning works very well. Large selection of snacks/drinks in minibar. One underground stop for London St Pancras. The staff are really the highlight. Big shout out to Weronica and also Chris and Martin for their welcoming and positive demeanour. You made us feel really welcome. P.S: You're in central london in this pub hotel so bring some earphones! We'll definitely return when in London next!

We stayed here as we had a dinner nearby. Ideal location very short walk from Farringdon Elizabeth Line. We stayed in the St Paul‘s room which was beautiful, big and spacious and a lovely bathroom with rolltop bath and separate shower. The bed was extremely comfortable. The place was spotlessly clean and really good amenities in the room. We also had lunch here and the food was excellent as was the breakfast in the morning. You do have to go up some steep stairs to get to the rooms, but it’s well worth it once you’re there! Excellent value and we will definitely return
