Location of the hotel is brilliantly placed on the corner of Hyde Park. When walking out of the front of the hotel, you're faced with the Marble Arch directly.
Very close proximity to the tube and Oxford Street is a plus.
Hotel staff were friendly and eager for feedback on tripadvisor (which I find a bit off-putting).
Hotel room on 1st floor was OK. Comfy bed, spacious bed- and bathroom. Bathtub in the bathroom is always a plus.
However, both one of the towels and the duvet cover were stained. This was thankfully replaced by hotel staff.
The A/C in the room was very noisy. The fan had three settings, Off / Medium / High. When it was set to off, the unit made a lot of noise of water running through it. Sounded like a drain that was constantly draining or a brook of water running through our room. It was loud enough that I would recommend light sleepers wear earplugs.
While on drains, the shower drain was almost completely clogged, to the point where we were unsure if we had closed the valve for filling the tub.
Both these points were forwarded to reception after the first night of our stay and we were told maintenance would take a look while we were out, but we never heard anything more from staff, and the issues remained unfixed for our remaining two nights.
All in all, an OK hotel. Location is a big selling point, but value for money could no doubt be higher.
