DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels in London

Hilton has been a preferred choice of hotel, but it's my first time checking into Doubletree Hilton, and the expectation mustn't be high. I requested a high floor room with a good heater, but I was given a level 3 instead, and the heater control is rather old school. I wasn't given the toiletries when I stepped into the room and when I asked for it, housekeeping just provided me some items but they are unable to give me the toothbrush kit cause I'm staying in a deluxe room which is the lowest tier. Then the towel and the linen has some stench smell like it hasn't been washed properly. Lucky I was there for 2 nights only. The hotel is located close to 2 metro stations, and tower Bridge is within walking distance. Not cheap for the stay but I'm still pleased with the counter stuff being nice. Still give it a 3.5 to 4 for location and service.

We recently stayed here for the London Marathon 2022. We chose this hotel as the location was very close to the DLR station and very easy to get to Greenwich which was near the start. The hotel is hidden away off the main road but was very welcoming. Jeremy the Reservations manager looked after us and made our stay really lovely. We stayed for 3 nights and had a room on the 6th floor. The room was small but really cosy and quiet. Maybe could have done with a fridge in the room and some extra storage space but other than that an excellent stay. Breakfast was fabulous and on the morning of the Marathon extra food was put on and we could do down much earlier so we could digest our food before the run. Would stay again.

this hotel is a distance away from the city, but i’ve come to love it’s quiet and quaint neighbourhood. as hotel guests, you get free rides on the ferry to & fro Canary Wharf pier, which is still about a 10 minute walk to Canary Wharf metro & various malls. the hotel has narrow hallways to the rooms, floors are a little squeaky & you can hear people talk in the halls from your hotel room. lifts were a little confusing as well as rooms are subdivided into 8 areas (8 lifts). me and my mother didn’t receive a warm cookie upon check-in, but my boyfriend who arrived the next morning did, along with the ferry schedule, so i would say hotel service is inconsistent. we also had several issues with the toilet not being able to flush (me & my boyfriend’s room) & it took half a day for someone to attend to us - from the time we left the hotel to an hour after we got back. my mom had to call thrice on this issue. our toilet was also smaller and there was no drainage on the bathroom floor so it was often wet.

I stayed here as I had work commitments nearby and it was convenient. I must admit, I usually only stay at 5 star hotels however there was nothing else available. That being said, the bed was comfy, the room was clean, the customer service was excellent and room service prompt. The car parking was excellent value for money and allowed for you to leave and come back as you please. The downside was perhaps the the dark carpets and the low ceilings making it feel a bit closed in. The lift/elevator also reminded me of being in a hospital - needs updating. However, I’ve stayed at 5 stars and have had bad customer service, slow phone responses when contacting front desk, hairs in the room, dust on sideboards..etc. Overall I was impressed with not having any issues in any of these areas!

Great hotel, near the bus station There are supermarket nearby and the staff who received me the first night was very helpful however on the night I ask for water and they refused to give it to me then they said if I wanted water I needed to buy it. The room is quite small but there's a lot of amenities, tea pot, table, chairs, and so more.

A old Hotel, the rooms are in not that good condition and overall cleanliness is nit that good. The staff is friendly, the breakfast buffet choice is small and every day the same. Location is ditectly beside the train station, very easy to get to trains and underground. We have no troubles with the train sounds, but for somebody who needs it really quiet, should choose another double tree location in London.

The service is great.. every staffs are professional. I got a large room with balcony that I can see a small park opposite the hotel. Their shower room is very large and very safe for elder and disable with foldable chair for showering and emergency button at the toilet. Hair conditioner in amenity set.. this's attentive..I love it. The beakfast is various but none of veggie.. I deduct one point. About location.. it isn't on the main street this make it's peaceful but not far from the main street and mall.. I walked only 600 metres reach to Angel station and a big shopping mall.

If you're looking for a hotel to visit London, this is not the one. To give you an idea : Piccadilly Circus is about 1.5 hours to walk and about 45 minutes by taxi (expensive) and, if you're lucky, about the same by public transport (a mixture of walking, bus and tube... and a pain!) That said, if you need a hotel in this particlar area – which is actually nearer to Fulham than Sloane Square, then you could do much worse. The welcome was genuinely warm and we were made to feel appreciated. Despite checking in the previous day via the Hilton app., no room could be allocated, so we had to check in again at the front desk. The check in staff was charming and efficient and her trainee status was not evident. Our 6th floor room, well away from the renovation noise on the 1st floor felt, however, like a downgrade from the 'Queen' room we'd booked, as it had a double bed in it (150cm) – like Hampton Inns, which Hilton class as 2 categories below Doubletree. For Diamond members – who can expect room upgrades “up to a one bedroom suite” - this could be a disappointment. Queen beds are usually 160cm, doubles 150cm. If this hotel is selling doubles as queens, then I personally think this is a bit naughty of them. Also, despite the hotel stating that their 1st floor renovation work does not start before 9 a.m., they do not mention that the massive building project which half-encircles the hotel, starts well before this time and is constant throughout the day and, by the look of things, is destined to last for a long time yet. The room was clean, the bed comfortable although narrow and, apart from a few stains, the room was adequat for a one or two night stay. I wouldn't like to stay longer, as the bathroom is even smaller than a Hampton Inn – there's nowhere to put a toilet bag and nowhere to hang used towels. The shower unit is the same style as in Hamptons but much smaller than most. The toilet seat was loose and so was 'interesting' when using it, several plug sockets in the room did not work and the a/c and TV turned themseves off several times during our stay. Otherwise the room was well designed, with enough mirrors, work surface, chair, safe etc. and fridge that gets things cold enough – if you are willing to wait about 18 hours, that is! Don't expect a good sleep – the doors are not sound-proofed and are paper-thin. Room doors are also constantly 'banging' shut due to the spring mechanism. The lobby bar is well stocked but has slighly frightening prices. We didn't try the restaurant – choosing a Middle-Eastern restaurant 5 minutes' walk away – but the food we saw looked to be well-presented and seemed to be of the fast food type. The breakfast was, to be totally frank, extremely disappointing. The quality was good but the choice was extremely poor for a Doubletree and, in comparison to the maybe 30 or 40 Doubletrees I've stayed in, is by far the worst breakfast 'spread' I've seen to date. No ham, no smoked salmon, not even any utensils for the

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Breakfast was nice, plenty of options. Would stay again and recommend to others. Only down points were told they didn’t offer bottles of water (even though my Hilton honors stated I get water), and also issue with heating/aircon in room and it was very cold, but they did supply electric heaters.

Doubletree Hilton is always my go-to and having saved more money via trip and Hilton not price matching, i was worried I would not get my Hilton benefits. However, I was able to choose my room to check in as per, however Hilton seems to have a habit now of when you arrive finding out room has been changed and they apparently upgrading you but it's not actual upgrade! I was given choice of 2 rooms eventually and still pleased with it, Nice view, although a tad noisy on 5th floor facing the main road. Ample space, comfy bed, good size bathroom. Breakfast was actually one of the nicest I've had in a hotel in a long time. Front desk was very helpful and easy to deal with. Bar allowed me to get ice and water to take to my room. Location was spot on with access to tube and buses. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
