The Standard London

King's Cross St. Pancras London|0.52km from Chapter Kings Cross
Just finished a four night stay at the Standard Hotel in London. This is my first trip back to London post Covid and wanted to find the latest and greatest and the Standard has raised the bar in the hotel and hot spot scene. I put the concierge team to the test as I always do and Istvan and his team did not disappoint. I sent a very detailed request of things I wanted to and places I wanted to go before I arrived. Upon arrival I was happy to accept a room upgrade from George at the front desk and he was quite helpful showing me around and we struck up a conversation about football. Upon entering my room I saw it had a massive terrace with beautiful teak furniture over looking the city center. The room was stylish and chic and cutting edge and even a bit “quirky” as the brand is known for. The restaurant on the first floor Isla, is as cool as you can imagine. The lobby flows into the restaurant with outdoor seating that is heated with a gas fireplace which is a nice touch. The service and food were spot on and the lobby feels like a home as it is filled with books, dj booth and the cool London locals as well as the jet set crowd. I went to see Istvan at the concierge desk who was put to the task of getting tickets for a few soccer/football matches for me. I was floored by the front row tickets he gave me. He sorted out trains, boats, cable cars and restaurants. I can’t imagine better service could be had. Saving the best for last, Decimo on the 10th floor is the place to be and people watch. The mix of music and food was the cool vibe that everyone tries to imitate but never does. The hotel is directly across the street from St. Pancras station and Kings Cross. International, or national rail lines as well as the tube/subway. There is not a better location in London as it literally is the heart beat of the city. Nice to see a hotel living up to the hype. Actually, they surpass it.

I find spa days odd if this is normal. Maybe this is a me thing. £70 to sip camomile tea in a not very warm room with the lights down (I could have murdered a coffee but they didn’t “do” coffee in the spa. Coming from a luxury hospitality background and it being a high-end hotel, I would have thought someone might have offered me one); the jacuzzi again was not all warm and nice so my muscles still wouldn’t relax and then there is a steam room with eucalyptus. The sauna is separated m/f so i didn’t bother because I went with a male friend and the point was to chat… we ended up having more tea. There is no swimming pool but there is a gym. Fair enough if you want that. My starters had no flavour at all. The main was nice and right for the moment and my Irish coffee was delicious. The building wowed me and everything is in very good condition. Staff are down to earth, smart and friendly. The set menu was worth doing. I don’t know how this competes with other hotels but had the spa been warmer I would certainly have been happier. I feel £70 for that part of the day is money for old rope. When I think about it we spent about £20 an hour to be in a nice building and have a £30 two course meal. I think that’s quite a lot. The spa could do with some personality, warmth, music… having tables cleared more often (it wasn’t busy)… something other than going room to room in a towling robe.

Very satisfied with a hotel, worthy of this price. When I made a mistake at the time of booking, I saw that the room information showed that the facilities for the disabled were provided, and I didn’t think about it. I found that it was a special room for the disabled. It was really embarrassing. . . Before the check-in, the hotel contacted me via Ctrip and asked me about my check-in time. My answer may arrive at noon, which will be far earlier than the hotel's check-in time. The reply will be arranged according to the situation on the day. On the day of the check-in, we arrived at the hotel around 11:00 and they were all ready. Thank you very much! The hotel was originally remodeled by the bank and opened only last year, new and atmospheric. There are seven or eight restaurants in the hotel lobby, and the taste is comprehensive. Geographically, it is located in the downtown area, walking close to the hotels around the Thames, and next to the subway station. The decor of the room is completely classic British style, the details are carefully polished, very special and very like. There are no less than 20 kinds of bath products, which is extremely luxurious. I saw a comment on the book saying that the sound of the music downstairs was noisy, but the actual experience was completely unrecognizable. The sound insulation of the window was well done. The sound of the door next door was noisy. This may be the only fly in the ointment.

Excellent location, since the structure is located a few minutes walk from King's Cross Metro Station (which brings you to 2/3 stops in the heart of London), and St. Pancras Railway Station, where you can take the train The hotel is located in the heart of the city centre, and is located in the centre of the city. The bad bathroom is bad, because in 3 square meters there are almost attacked, toilet and shower, for which I suggest that little water flow to avoid flooding as it happened to me and my girlfriend. For the rest of the clean room, and the various receptionists very gentle.

I stayed in the hotel for 10 days. The location is convenient but outside the road had many street sleepers. There was no services for tidy up the room. They only refilled the towers and toilet rolls, discarded the rubbish. The towels was not clean enough, some dirt could see on the towels.

Stayed here 3 nights with family. Very friendly staff at reception. Rooms are dated and smelt slightly musty. Very warm but 2 fans were provided. Ideal for the price especially if you're out all day. Perfect location near kings cross station. Lovely curry houses nearby.

From King's Cross Station, follow the Google Maps navigation for about ten minutes to arrive, and the surroundings are quiet. The front desk was welcoming, and we stayed on the first floor to avoid the trouble of moving our luggage to the upper floor. After check-out, there is a free luggage storage and an aisle next to the reception. Breakfast is simple bread, cereal, coffee, milk, fruit, juice, butter, jam, but in the end it is full. Every time I passed the front desk, the waiters smiled and said hello. The three rooms we set are a combination of double bed and single bed. We can walk after the two boxes are opened, which is bigger than expected.
