The Standard London

King's Cross St. Pancras London|2.76km from Chapter Highbury
Just finished a four night stay at the Standard Hotel in London. This is my first trip back to London post Covid and wanted to find the latest and greatest and the Standard has raised the bar in the hotel and hot spot scene. I put the concierge team to the test as I always do and Istvan and his team did not disappoint. I sent a very detailed request of things I wanted to and places I wanted to go before I arrived. Upon arrival I was happy to accept a room upgrade from George at the front desk and he was quite helpful showing me around and we struck up a conversation about football. Upon entering my room I saw it had a massive terrace with beautiful teak furniture over looking the city center. The room was stylish and chic and cutting edge and even a bit “quirky” as the brand is known for. The restaurant on the first floor Isla, is as cool as you can imagine. The lobby flows into the restaurant with outdoor seating that is heated with a gas fireplace which is a nice touch. The service and food were spot on and the lobby feels like a home as it is filled with books, dj booth and the cool London locals as well as the jet set crowd. I went to see Istvan at the concierge desk who was put to the task of getting tickets for a few soccer/football matches for me. I was floored by the front row tickets he gave me. He sorted out trains, boats, cable cars and restaurants. I can’t imagine better service could be had. Saving the best for last, Decimo on the 10th floor is the place to be and people watch. The mix of music and food was the cool vibe that everyone tries to imitate but never does. The hotel is directly across the street from St. Pancras station and Kings Cross. International, or national rail lines as well as the tube/subway. There is not a better location in London as it literally is the heart beat of the city. Nice to see a hotel living up to the hype. Actually, they surpass it.

Y'all, we will return again and again. We just discovered this rather modest and plain building ten months ago. I kid, of course, about the building. It's incredible. Jaw dropping. And, surprisingly, full of natural light. We came back to London just to stay here. Checked out last Sunday. We had a large, quiet suite. We planned for a five night stay, but the French train strike kept us in London, and our suite was available, so we stayed eight nights. A big shout-out to Irene at the front desk who gave us the warmest welcome and took good care of us. Excellent staff all around. Another shout-out to Emmanuel in the Chambers Club, too. This neighborhood rocks, btw. You've got everything here, plus Cornish pasties and Harry Potter at Kings Cross, Google HQs and the restaurants that surround that, and the super cool Coal Drops Yard beyond that. We did a load of laundry across from Mary Shelley's place two blocks away. I ❤️ London. Any issues were minor and this place gets plenty of grace. The shower is piping hot, but the tub, which might sit next to original windows, could not get hot. The jacuzzi in the spa was cold our entire stay. In the Chambers Club, hot food struggled to stay hot. But, y'all, we were in a massive winter storm, and, again, this place gets grace. Oh, and no merch for sale. I would have bought those hand painted cups in our room. And you cannot help but bust into ”Wannabe” on the grand staircase. Enjoy ☮️

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Camden Prime Apart Hotel and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. The brilliant accommodations, coupled with exceptional service especially their air conditioning system one in each flat, made my stay truly memorable. The hotel’s prime location made exploring the city very easy , and I can’t wait to return to it on my next visit. Highly recommended.

I'm honestly surprised about the reviews here because I had a totally different experience. Check in was easy and Anna was welcoming, getting in touch beforehand to find out what time I'd be likely to arrive. Dropped my keycard in a box on the way out as needed to leave before 9am for a course. Stayed in an Executive Apartment facing the road which was clean and spacious. Only used the fridge but that kept my drink nice and cold, so I'm sure the other equipment works too. The building seems like the type to retain heat, so the room was a bit warm initially for my liking but turning the radiators off and the aircon on sorted that quickly. Windows also had another hatch type window which did a great job at reducing noise from busy street. The only complaint I'd have was another group of annoying guests came back and decided to set some kind of alarm off at 2am. Noisy people can happen anywhere though, especially near central London, and I was getting perfectly good sleep before this. Not really the hotel's fault that some people are inconsiderate. I would definitely stay again though as location was perfect for me and good value.

Stayed last night, and am absolutely disgusted by a lot of the recent reviews on here by people. I forgot how people like to moan for the sake of moaning. * FREE parking. You tell me somewhere else where there's free parking the 1/5 moaning patrol in London. Love to hear. A lot of £20-£35 prices. * Sound quality in room - Didn't hear a PEEP from any other room. Rare in hotels. Clearly good. * Breakfast was VERY GOOD - options - good portion sizes. * Ensuite included. * Staff VERY VERY VERY friendly! Happy when I phoned direct to not even accept payment over the phone, and take upon arrival. Infact, for £65 - two people, free parking, breakfast included, very friendly and kind staff he AUDACITY of some people to write 1/5 is absolutely DISGUSTING. That's not to say it's perfect by any stretch of imagination. The bathroom was very small ( they'll know this ) the mattress had certainly had better days, the shower could be better. However, when writing a review - can people THINK a little more before giving 1/5. I've stayed in some horrific places, awful staff, 1/5 etc etc and this place really is not this. If in this location again, will stay, again!

It’s alright, not great. Location is a little sketchy and there’s no real check in. The dude talks to you via text/WhatsApp, so it feels less professional than one would like. He did offer to try and fix a problem I had with bookings by offering another location which was nice, can’t knock his effort to help - but the price he was offering was a little too much for a ‘single bed and a mattress on the floor.’ I was away in London, I wasn’t gonna sleep on the floor after that long-ass train trip 😂 The bed was in the attic/loft and I kept hitting my head as ceiling was low, and I’m not particular tall. The smell of the building is pretty nasty too but luckily room smelt fine. Check in was pretty bad, no one would answer the door, I rang the guy and he said he’d ring the housekeeper. She answered and was very sweet, there was a language barrier though, she told us 2nd floor on right hand side but it turns out we were top floor left hand side. Not her fault, I’m a patience and understanding guy so I thanked her and continued the evening. Upon entering the room there was food under the sofa and a headband on the floor so instantly my girlfriend’s skin was crawling. Ever had an upset partner whilst on holiday? Yeah proper headache. 😂 It’s a little too expensive for what it is, but it’s semi decent, an alright location. Just wish they hadn’t charged the £7.50 cleaning fee, as I don’t think a wet mop on the floor and nothing else counts 😂 I’ll probs book again but only if it was the last place I could find! Not the owners fault though, as it seems he’s not there too much to check. Do, with this information, as you wish.

Very friendly welcome and all staff were really lovely, especially Adriana. We had an attic room with a great view of the park. Very small room but well designed and perfectly adequate for me and my daughter who went to a gig at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Staff gave us good transport tips. Shower, kettle tea, coffee and comfy beds ...all we needed. Nothing negative to say as we knew it was a budget hotel. Breakfast was good. Exceeded my expectations as previous reviews were negative but I would stay again for the price.

The hotel is very close to the subway station (like the railway station) and very convenient in the city! In London, this price is very cheap, the sound is not very good, the facilities are relatively simple, if the requirements are not too high, you can try!
