St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London

King's Cross St. Pancras London|0.06km from CHANEL FRAGRANCE & BEAUTY
Y'all, we will return again and again. We just discovered this rather modest and plain building ten months ago. I kid, of course, about the building. It's incredible. Jaw dropping. And, surprisingly, full of natural light. We came back to London just to stay here. Checked out last Sunday. We had a large, quiet suite. We planned for a five night stay, but the French train strike kept us in London, and our suite was available, so we stayed eight nights. A big shout-out to Irene at the front desk who gave us the warmest welcome and took good care of us. Excellent staff all around. Another shout-out to Emmanuel in the Chambers Club, too. This neighborhood rocks, btw. You've got everything here, plus Cornish pasties and Harry Potter at Kings Cross, Google HQs and the restaurants that surround that, and the super cool Coal Drops Yard beyond that. We did a load of laundry across from Mary Shelley's place two blocks away. I ❤️ London. Any issues were minor and this place gets plenty of grace. The shower is piping hot, but the tub, which might sit next to original windows, could not get hot. The jacuzzi in the spa was cold our entire stay. In the Chambers Club, hot food struggled to stay hot. But, y'all, we were in a massive winter storm, and, again, this place gets grace. Oh, and no merch for sale. I would have bought those hand painted cups in our room. And you cannot help but bust into ”Wannabe” on the grand staircase. Enjoy ☮️

The Standard London

King's Cross St. Pancras London|0.11km from CHANEL FRAGRANCE & BEAUTY
Just finished a four night stay at the Standard Hotel in London. This is my first trip back to London post Covid and wanted to find the latest and greatest and the Standard has raised the bar in the hotel and hot spot scene. I put the concierge team to the test as I always do and Istvan and his team did not disappoint. I sent a very detailed request of things I wanted to and places I wanted to go before I arrived. Upon arrival I was happy to accept a room upgrade from George at the front desk and he was quite helpful showing me around and we struck up a conversation about football. Upon entering my room I saw it had a massive terrace with beautiful teak furniture over looking the city center. The room was stylish and chic and cutting edge and even a bit “quirky” as the brand is known for. The restaurant on the first floor Isla, is as cool as you can imagine. The lobby flows into the restaurant with outdoor seating that is heated with a gas fireplace which is a nice touch. The service and food were spot on and the lobby feels like a home as it is filled with books, dj booth and the cool London locals as well as the jet set crowd. I went to see Istvan at the concierge desk who was put to the task of getting tickets for a few soccer/football matches for me. I was floored by the front row tickets he gave me. He sorted out trains, boats, cable cars and restaurants. I can’t imagine better service could be had. Saving the best for last, Decimo on the 10th floor is the place to be and people watch. The mix of music and food was the cool vibe that everyone tries to imitate but never does. The hotel is directly across the street from St. Pancras station and Kings Cross. International, or national rail lines as well as the tube/subway. There is not a better location in London as it literally is the heart beat of the city. Nice to see a hotel living up to the hype. Actually, they surpass it.

The bed was very high and uncomfortable. The check-in day was December 25. A man helped me check in. Later, a female staff member appeared and recommended me to add money to upgrade. In fact, the room was definitely not full that day. If I said that I gave me a room upgrade, I would like to express my gratitude. It does n’t matter if you do n’t have this treatment. If you do n’t order a more expensive one, it ’s better to be greedy. This woman has been mentioned more than once if you do n’t upgrade. Anyway, I felt that it would not be arranged well without upgrading. Her attitude was really uncomfortable. For more than 1,000 nights, anyway, my room type was not suitable, and the cleaning staff opened the door without knocking after entering. Now, she said she did n’t know anyone, anyway, the hotel service is not good

Right beside an exit of king cross station. Ear plugs provided incase it gets noisy at night which is a nice touch. Very friendly staff too!

King's Cross St. Pancras
The location of the room is very good, just across the road from Kingcross Station, no more than 50 meters from the entrance and exit of the underground passage. It is very convenient to store luggage. There are two service staff encountered, one is warm and friendly, and the other is relatively cold. The stairway is relatively narrow, the spring on the door is a bit too powerful, and it is a bit laborious to enter and exit and go up and down the stairs. The room space is very small, 26 inches can barely be opened, and the suitcases 28 and above are estimated to be a bit difficult. The bathroom facilities are also relatively mini and the bedding is minimal. What facilities have been running outside the room, there is uninterrupted noise.

The location is very good, with the train station at the door, several airports and various domestic and international lines. The booking price is very cheap (depending on the season and time of booking). Storing luggage before check-in/after check-out costs 2-3 pounds, which is very cheap in London. The front desk is 24 hours a day and there is a bar.
