A dynamic fusion of past and present in the heart of the City of London. Between the traditional guildhalls that line the lanes of the City of London stands Vintry and Mercer - a contemporary boutique hotel inspired by its historic setting. Named after the guilds who traded in wine and fine fabrics- Vintry and Mercer promises a city break in luxury style. Inside- welcoming spaces dotted with growing plants add a touch of greenery to the city setting. While statement artwork- such as a dramatic chandelier- add a contemporary edge. In the rooms and suites- past and present mix and mingle- with opulent velvets and historic prints contrasted against modern furnishings and the latest technology. Grab breakfast in Vintry Kitchen on the ground floor. If you have work to do- tuck yourself away in the Breakout space. Or set out to explore the city. St. Pauls cathedral is a short walk away- as are the gleaming skyscrapers of the financial district. Or you could cross the river to explore Borough Market or catch a play at The Globe theatre. Vintry and Mercer is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property.

Small but beautiful hotel. Very good location, you can take 2 subways on foot, and it is also close to St. Paul's Cathedral. If you are strong enough, you can even walk to famous attractions such as Big Ben. The hotel service is very good, the staff is very enthusiastic and can respond to guests' various needs in a timely manner. The drinks and snacks in the hotel minibar are free, and you can refill them after you finish eating. When we stayed for the second time, they also put children's toiletries and snacks for the children, and the children were very happy. Recommended

The location is good, but the hotel is difficult to find. The hotel sign is not obvious at a corner. There are Cityzenm London bankside office building and Cityzenm London bankside hotel nearby. This is another hotel. The navigation shows another hotel.
The facilities are electronically controlled by iPad, and the lighting color of the shower room can be selected by yourself, which is quite interesting.
The space is indeed larger than that of a single room.
Sanitation is relatively clean.
You can apply for a card by yourself and get drinking water by yourself. You can also choose sparkling water, which is more environmentally friendly.
At the water bar, I thought the Chinese waiters were very nice. The service is not bad.
I checked in on Sunday night for ¥1,200, which felt a bit expensive.

The receptionist who greeted us was very polite, smartly dressed and gave us all the necessary information...our room was bright and airy and very clean coffee/tea facilities and you could ask for more..iron & ironing board which came in handy...no fridge available ...the bathroom was very spacious the only issue which we had (and reported) was the shower head you couldn't stand under it so used it via your hand, which really wasn't a big issue...evening meal wasn't available but they gave us a pizza menu which would deliver to the hotel and they put the order through and the didn't mind you eating food in your room.
Breakfast was delicious we were shown to our table which was clean and tidy then it was help yourself to full English or continental good variety with both...the most annoying thing were guests were leaving the lids up on the hot food do they not realise keeping it closed keeps the temperature. .I would hate to read that a guest had luke warm food and if they did blame other guests not the hotel...
Special thanks to Kereline and William who were both helpful and a credit to the holiday Inn express.
P.s I thought it was a brilliant idea to be able to hire an umbrella for 48 hours for £2 !

The power plugs in the room hardly work. No kitchen area. The lounge is really small and not supplied, with only a microwave. The luggage area have to pay $5 pounds per night.
The doors use a stupid code which is so difficult to get it. Need to download an app just to use this place. After 11am you immediately get locked out and and cannot go back in the door. So time your exit properly. This place is just up to make money .

I loved it here. The staff were so friendly and welcoming on arrival, offering complimentary food and drinks and giving details of hotel instructions. The room was perfect for what I needed, it was a single room that was still spacious enough, clean, and was really quiet so felt very private. They had food, water, fridge and kettle facilities in the room which I thought really went above and beyond what you’d expect for the price. Plus the bed was clean and comfy. The tv you could connect to Netflix or prime if you wanted to which was great. And the location was so convenient to get to Waterloo station and bus routes near to get to St Paul’s etc.
I’d highly recommend.

Everything is good other than the bed slides away, they have wheel and feels rolling around. The room is small so is the dated toilet, most doors are dated, so gives a noud loise. The lifts were not very sensitive. Breakfast full of options. They were also doing a renovation of carpets which was a bit annoying, and the large amount of rooms means u could walk a bit of distance reaching your room.

Outstanding
GGuest UserBe careful of being unknowingly charged with a ‘discussionary charge of tips’ (supposed to be A Conpulsory charge of tips, don’t be fool by the name, it is non-discussionary) AFTER CHECKING OUT of the hotel. I was being charged with a discussionary charge of the tips on the credit card automatically without being informed upfront after I checked out and left the hotel.
When I checked out, i was informed at the counter that they were closing their account for previous day and they would help me check out my room and email me the invoice of my stay after they finished closing account. As a result, I innocently left the hotel since I thought a 5-star hotel would not have anything gone wrong. However, I was totally wrong until I saw extra charges on my credit card while not receiving any so called invoice from the hotel at all. I then reached out to Trip.com to request for the invoice that they have promised to send to me and it was then I was informed that the extra charges were from a discussionary charge of tips. I wasn’t happy about the way this was done hence I requested for a refund for this since it clearly stated this is a DISCUSSIONARY fee, not a compulsory fee. However, I was informed that this is a Non-refundable fee and my request was denied.
Out of so many hotels I have stayed, it is unbelievable that in a 5-Star hotel, I was forced to pay something that wasn’t even being informed upfront. In addition, with the fee name suggested, it is a discussionary charge of tips NOT a compulsory charge of tips, the hotel has forced the customers to pay it as COMPULSORY CHARGE OF TIPS.
In addition, the hotel services were very inefficient and lot of rooms for improve. We ordered for an in-room meal and we were told that it would take about half an hour to deliver. Hence we waited, and until an hour later, there was no update on our meal and we had to make a call again to check for the progress of our meal. It was then we knew there was a delay in the meal. By the time we done with our meal, we made the call again to request for someone to collect the plates, we literally waited for more than an hour and had to call twice before someone came to pick up the plates.
This shouldn’t have been the service received in a 5-star hotel and the worst of all, the hotel should have more transparency in their charges and should have informed the customers on the charges upfront before the actual charging. When we signed for the amount paid for the meal, there were no statement on the discussionary charge of tips at all, and we didn’t expect there would be as we were not even informed.
It is not that we are unwilling to give the tips and we did give the tips during the stay. However, it made us very uncomfortable that we weren’t informed anything upfront and it was charged to my credit card AFTER we CHECKED OUT of THE HOTEL. It made us feeling very unsafe to provide the credit card to the hotel as they can charge whatever charges they want after checking out the hotel. In addition, it is a discussionary charge, isn’t it should be discussed before I was being charged? If not it should be called a a compulsory charge of tips.
AAndy NooGreat location close to Kings cross /St pancreas Station and not far from attractions, its 2 hotels in 1 that is predominantly used as a transit hotel for overseas tourist on day trips. The hotel is clean, and you need a room key card for the lift to move and also to get to the corridors of your room so security is good.
Downsides are that outside noise enters easily due to the old metal windows and rooms a very warm, it can be noisy throughout the night as people arrive and leave at all times. We had a room with an interconnecting door that the people in the other room tried to open at 1.30 am when they first arrived , they were also incredibly noisey shouting once awake which was at 5am due to sightseeing trips with the noise coming through the doors really easily, so it disrupted our stay . The breakfast was very good with a good selection of full English and continental foods, which set you up for the day ahead. Would we use this hotel again ....possibly
GGuest UserStay was great until I found out they took money from my bank for breakfast I didn’t take. I stated at check-in I didn’t want breakfast as I was at work early the following day.
I called the hotel for a refund, only to be told I need to send an email to the manager and they would check the cctv to ensure I didn’t attend breakfast.
IIanOur normal IHG Hotel was nearly fully booked therefore the price was prohibitive. We therefore took the opportunity to try for the first time the Sutton Hotel.
All the staff that we met either on the reception or restaurant were friendly, helpful and professional. The Hotel has full amenities including swimming pool, and although we did not use any, except the restaurant, everything looked excellent. Our queen’s standard room was ok but there were a few marks and stains on the carpet, plastic cups in the bathroom, no box of tissues and few plug sockets. All these things are noticed in comparison to our normal hotel at Epsom Downs. It is however true to say that this Hotel had a very good restaurant on sight which Epsom does not. Therefore there is no doubt we will certainly stay here again in the future.
大大食仔The location is good. The westfield shopping is nearby. There is bus stop just in front of hotel entrance. The two stations are within 5 minutes walking distance. Overall, the hotel is clean and tidy. The size of room is acceptable . There are supermarket, Macdonald, KFC, Starbucks, Subways nearby.
TTan24The location is ideal to get to T5 Heathrow Terminal using the POD transport. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is quite big and there seem to be lots of parties happening. The bar is a sports bar and you can enjoy drinks and food. The corridors are very long. The hotel furniture and interior are a bit outdated, but for a short stay it's ok.
GGuest UserHotel staff are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is located perfectly for a visit to West Field shopping complex, 5 minutes walk away. The room we booked was the lowest priced available without breakfast included. It was clean and well presented as you expect for a Hilton. Tea and coffees provided as well as a fridge. The bathroom looked tired with heavy wear around the lower door and skirting given an appearance of shabbiness. That said it was clean. Also thankfully it wasn’t cold outside ( just wet ) as the heating wasn’t functioning.
AAnonymous UserRoom & bathroom are tiny.. just nice for the bed, not much space left for the luggage..
location is great, near Paddington station walking distance to Hyde park.
AAnonymous UserThe location is quite convenient. The room for 3 people (2 beds) is okay, not too small, and not too dirty. Shower room is a bit small but clean. There is a kitchen, microwave and sink. Overall I’m good with this stay.
AAngelI am writing to provide feedback on our recent stay at your hotel. While the location was excellent, we found that the hotel itself was in need of some improvements.
Firstly, I would like to highlight the positive aspect of our stay, which was the great location of the hotel. It was conveniently situated near various attractions and amenities, allowing us to easily explore the area. This was definitely a major advantage during our visit.
However, we were disappointed with the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel. The rooms appeared to be in need of a deep cleansing, as there were noticeable stains on the carpets and walls. Additionally, the furniture and fixtures seemed worn out and outdated. A fresh coat of paint and new beds would greatly enhance the overall appearance and comfort of the rooms.
Furthermore, we found the lack of a welcoming lobby person to be quite disappointing. Upon arrival, we were not greeted or assisted by any staff members. This lack of hospitality made us feel unwelcome and left a negative impression.
In conclusion, while the location of the hotel was excellent, we believe that improvements are necessary to enhance the overall guest experience. A thorough cleaning, along with updates to the rooms and furniture, would greatly improve the comfort and aesthetics of the hotel. Additionally, having a friendly and welcoming lobby person would contribute to a more positive and enjoyable stay.
P.S. positive side- I truly appreciate the staff at the hotel who made the effort to move us to a more convenient floor. Additionally, it's always a pleasant experience when the breakfast lady is friendly and accommodating.
