45 Park Lane-Dorchester Collection

Mayfair
This is a very good hotel and lounge bar. I think this is where the old Coffee Place used to be. I've always wanted come here as it is the best coffee shop in London. The interiors were plush and the staff discreet. I ordered a pot of coffee with biscuits. They were delicious. Park Lane is very oriental as we have the Hotel Intercontinental on one side and the Dorchester on the other. The Hilton Hotel which is in the middle finds favour with Asians as well. I have stayed at the Edgeware Rd. Hilton and had coffee at Claridges, Dorchester group of hotel as was this hotel and coffee shop owned by the richest man in the world Sultana of Brunei. We have a Coffee Place in Dhaka, Bangladesh but it is not as plush as this one. The speciality being it was self service as the service station restaurants in this country that being a novelty in Dhaka in the 80's.I had a lovely cold coffee there which I never did in England.

The Wellesley Knightsbridge, a Luxury Collection Hotel, London
4.6/547 Reviews
Belgravia
Starting with the positives, The Wellesley is a lovely, small boutique hotel in a good location across from Hyde Park. The service levels of the staff are five star -- every touch point we had with a staff member was excellent from start to finish. The staff goes out of their way to engage with you and help to personalize your stay. The room was very nice but not exceptional in any way. And, if you're a smoker, this place is for you. The not-so-positives. The breakfast area (dining room?) felt like a spillover afterthought. While service was very good, the experience was transactional. The room is small and too brightly lit, the food was nothing special -- we did not want to linger longer than we needed to. The biggest and most perplexing issue we had with this property was its priority around smoking. They are proud of their cigar bar area, but across from this area is their bar and outdoor lounge that becomes completely consumed by cigarette smoking as soon as the sun sets. The smell permeates and contaminates the very small lobby -- entering the hotel feels like walking into a casino. There was no way we could enjoy a drink at their bar or lounge, which is a basic expectation and massive disappointment in a five star hotel. The smoke travels up to the nonsmoking rooms, and certainly filled ours on the third floor. The after dark smoking thing is completely incongruent with the charm and service of this hotel during the daylight. It's really too bad because the hotel is lovely in almost every other way.
Bulgari Hotel London

Knightsbridge
The room facilities are indeed high-end and exquisite, and the bed is very comfortable The location is also very good. It is the most satisfactory one among the three hotels we stayed in (The Shard, Bulgari, and Mandarin). However, the service feels not as warm and sincere as Wenhua
Ember Locke Kensington
4.5/542 Reviews
Kensington
The hotel exceeded expectations on arrival, better than the photos in the lobby and ground floor areas. Check-in process whilst smooth was a little awkward when I was told that the booking agent hadn’t transferred payment, I’d paid in full when I booked, Ember Locke would “look into this”. The facilities in the room were great, the use of the space for a city studio was good. The lighting was moody, another light option over the dining space would be an welcome option. No phone access from the rooms and laundry facilities meant repeat visits to the front desk as there was some discrepancies in information about laundry detergent and kitchen plug. Wet weather made the front tiled area slippery, a mat would be a great addition to the space. Whilst 24 hour front desk service was advised, at time of my check out the desk was unattended and I was unsure how to proceed, assuming all was OK leaving the room pass by the front desk. A refurbish of the lift interior would finish the space nicely. Overall, really comfortable stay and the opening of the bar soon will be great for this property.
OYO the Green Man Pub and Hotel
3.5/552 Reviews
We only went in for a drink and food, so I can't rate the rooms (we did stay years ago and everything was fine). Staff were friendly and efficient and the food was gorgeous, generous portions and so reasonably priced. I had scampi and there were about 14 pieces and all for under £10! We love this pub before gigs at Wembley, though my older friends dread the hill 😆
