The Dukes Retreat, Khandala

Duke's Retreat Khandala has been our go-to hotel to soak in the beauty of the Ghats during monsoon season. No other hotel can match the location and views it offers. We paid a visit here yesterday to have lunch. The restaurant manager on duty was very welcoming. The lunch hours had officially closed by the time we reached, yet we received a warm welcome by the hotel staff. The Chef, Vijay, prepared a simple yet delicious, fresh and warm meal. We had home style Chicken Curry, mixed vegetable and Phulka. The portion sizes were very good. We were delighted to see the new renovated version of this hotel. The Italian restaurant on the first level is semi open and overlooks the waterfalls. The garden and walkway is fresh and green with interesting plants. The swimming pool is clean and inviting. Would love to return here to spend a couple of nights.

The stay was very pleasant. The staffs are very helpful. Right from the check in to check out, everything was hassle free. The activities are also very engaging. Particularly the pottery. Mr. Balakrishna was awesome with his work. Horse riding & caricature. All the activities were wonderful. We stayed at Cliff view room. The rooms are very neat & tidy. Overall awesome experience.

Wxcellent teaching on pottery making. He was a v good teacher. Good insights on pottery making and the history. We were really impressed and felt the need to promote pottery making. Balkrishna was good at his work. We learnt a lot of things.

This place feels like heaven. Nestled in the beautiful Khandala the food is amazing and the staff makes this place more heavenly. Free activities includes pottery caricature, aerobics, and yoga. The pottery with Balaji was so soothing and felt really good even the yoga with Sakshi was extremely meditative. Highly recommend this place I have come with my autistic son and the staff is extremely accommodating to his needs. Do visit this place if you already haven't

We had an unforgettable holiday at The Dukes Retreat Resort. The location was breathtaking, with scenic views. The resort's design and attention to detail created the perfect blend of luxury and comfort. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive especially Neha, Bidya, Sneha and Akhilesh, ensuring every moment of our stay was seamless. The dining options were exceptional, with delicious and diverse cuisines that catered to every taste. It truly exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to return!"

I’ve traveled a fair amount, I’ve been to many nice hotels, but this hotel is my absolute favourite. Just as a starter, the building itself, the rooms, and above all the view that they offer is outstanding. That alone would be worth the stay. The rooms are modern, well-designed and give the guests an impeccable view of the valley. They offer many fun activities, from pottery with a master potter to morning yoga with a great teacher Sakshi. The food is also exceptional. Their culinary team is creative and offers much more than one typically finds in a hotel, and each dish was incredible. They also do unique cocktails at the bar, Toddy being my personal fav. But what really makes this place genuinely incredible is the staff. They’re not just nice and accommodating in a professional sense, it goes beyond that. We stayed in many 5-star hotels throughout India, and the hospitality has always been a cut above. At the Duke’s Retreat however, it truly feels that they want to give you the best, and do absolutely anything they can to increase your enjoyment. There are so genuinely kind and attentive, it truly warms the heart. This is my all-time favourite hotel. If only we didn’t live on the other side of the world, we’d come back all the time. But I know we’ll be back one day! A sincere thank you to all the staff at the Duke’s Retreat
