This was my 2nd visit to this amazing lodge. The views from the accommodation into the Masai Mara is just spectacular and the lodge has some hidden places for e.g. sundowner drinks or breakfast, lunch or dinner with an incredible view. Since about 1 year now the lodge has a swimming pool with a view. The food and the staff are very good. Thank you for hosting us once again and maybe until …..

Had the most amazing time here. Location is a little out so we stayed on the game drive for lunch as couldn't get back easily. A special vehicle helps you get up to the lodge. The views up there are absolutely breathtaking. The rooms were amazing we couldn't believe they were tents. The food was also very good plenty of options. Finally the service as always in this beautiful country was second to none. You can't beat the Kenyan hospitality. Would highly recommend this place

Sited high on a ridge overlooking the Masai Mara plains you really get a feel of wilderness. The main lodge has an amazing deck area to watch sunrises on and meals are eaten just inside with the same view. Access is up an incredibly steep track on specialised 4-wheel vehicles you have to transfer onto, but the drive is amazing. Our tent was surrounded by the bush, so didn't have a view, but wow what a tent. Actually tent is a misnomer, as although the sides and roof from inside are fabric, there is a solid roof over the whole assembly. The floor area was bigger than our house, with wonderful wood floors. We had three beds to choose from, so this tent could easily accommodate a family. Behind a raised solid adobe-style wall there is a wide area containing a double sink, and two widely separate walk in shower and toilet areas. The shower was a waterfall rather than a spray head, and temperatures were tricky to control, but overall very functional. Toilet is a standard western style flush, so you'll have no issues there. All staff were super friendly and helpful. Food was plentiful and nicely varied. Other facilities include a swimming pool, which we didn't visit. WiFi is only available in the main lodge, and could be glitchy, but is not available at the tents. The one twist, is that since there are and could be wild animals visiting the camp, you need an escort to and from the main lodge and your tent.

We stayed at the Mara Engai as the final camp on our fantastic Kenyan family safari and we were not disappointed. After transferring across the Mara by road from another lodge, we stopped at the bottom of the 1000m long windy road to Engai, were we were greeted and driven up to the lodge, by the wonderful Dickson or (DD as he is known to his friends). The climb up the hill and the views across the Mara of the many, many wildebeest was totally breathtaking as we made our way up to what was to be our home for the next two nights. Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly and charming staff of the Mara Engai. We were made to feel very welcome with a drink in the main restaurant, where the views of the Mara across to the Serengeti can only truly be appreciated from being this high up. We checked into our fantastic and extremely spacious accommodation. The tent was so big we had three large beds, a lounge area and a huge private and discrete dressing room and bathroom area. With three adults in one tent we never once felt that we were cramped or that we were falling over each other. The complex also has the most wonderful infinity pool where you can just relax and take in the most amazing views for miles and miles across the savannah. This was to be our last few days of our Kenyan dream holiday and Dickson was to be our driver and guide for our stay. To say that we couldn’t have been happier would have been an understatement. What DD didn’t know about the Mara really wasn’t worth knowing. He enthralled us with tales of his home and the Mara where he grew up. He showed us some of the most beautiful and wonderful parts of the Mara that we had not seen or visited during our first few days here. We saw some amazing animals: lions, elephants, rhinos, hippos, cheetah, huge crocs and the awesome wildebeest migration. DD looked after us so well throughout our stay. Not only did he arrange for us to have a picnic lunch in a most wonderful spot on our first day but on our last day we got up early, and on our way back to the airstrip, he arranged for us to have a picnic breakfast overlooking the Mara River with hippos as our guests. We truly had the most awe inspiring stay at the Mara Engai and could not recommend it enough. In our opinion and without doubt our stay at the Mara Engai was made complete by having DD as our guide and now our new friend. If you ever find your self staying at this wonderful place ask for Dickson. We guarantee you will not be disappointed. ⭐️Mara Engai is Breathtaking, Beautiful, Amazing, and Inspiring⭐️ We will be back for sure as we all left a little piece of our hearts in Kenya. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We arrived at the Mara engai camp, had a wonderful greeting, and taken to our deluxe tent .Wow, it was fabulous. The view over the plains was breathtaking , the grounds around the lodges were spectacular . We then met the staff. What a lovely group of people we were made to feel at home from the moment we met these wonderful people. After lunch, we went on our first safari drive , and the wildlife exceeded our expectations. The migration of the wildebeest and zebra was stunning mile upon mile of these animals with no end in sight, the rest of the wildlife over the next three days was equally fantastic, back to the camp the restaurant was very nice Ala carte menu on the first two nights and a bush barbecue on the third night, the service was first class the staff looking after us seemed to go the extra mile so thank you. The last morning, we had a hot air balloon ride after us to the masai mara followed by a bush breakfast absolutely incredible, I can't praise All the people who looked after us during our stay ,but a special mention to Cyprine, Clement and Elsie thank you for looking after us during our. If I've missed anybody out I apologise you were all fantastic. Thank you, Clement, for our migration cheers 🍻. I highly recommend you should visit this wonderful place . I forgot to mention the accommodation was spotless thank you again.

We stayed two nights at the Mara Engai Wilderness Lodge and we could not have been happier. The accommodations (tented cabins) are luxurious and very spacious. The staff made us feel welcome, the moment we arrived. The food was excellent. A very special thank you goes to our guide, Daniel who showed us the beauty and excitement of the Masai Mara. We feel like we made a new friend for life. His knowledge of the area and the animals allowed us to get very close to them. He even managed to show us the crossing of the wildebeests at the Mara river at the very last minute of our trip. We will certainly came back to this very special place.

From being picked up and being taken back to the airfield by the camp was an experience I will never forget. The camp its self is first class traditional built with a great dining/bar room with views of the savannah. The lodges are very spacious with a unique shower. The infinity pool is perfect to take in the views. Our game driver “Frankie” was very knowledgeable about the animals and locations also very friendly trying his best to find as many different animals as possible ( we even drove 150km one day to see a small pride of lions) thanks Frankie. What makes the stay here so special are the staff so friendly and nothing is an issue. YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED.

The Drive: Please note that Mara Engai is one of the best resorts in the entire Masai Mara with a Birds Eye view of the migration and breeding ground. Being on a hill top the drive from entrance of Mara Park up to the base of the resort is 2hrs, followed by another 20 mins up in resort jeep or safari due to steepness of the way to resort. The overall ride is bumpy and not for people who can’t take the bumps especially after the rains our safari Land Cruiser also skidded but thanks to our driver Kevin who is very skilled. In order to cut the journey time from 8-10 hrs to 3-4hrs it is suggested to take an aircraft from Nairobi to Masai Mara. Check in and reception: Reception Staff at Mara Engai are amazing, took great care of us and especially my mom. Although our tent was close by the reception, due to slope they ensured the buggy was available and if not they would hold my mothers hands to and fro the reception, the staff also looked after my mom on days she did not join us for the safari.. truly commendable and hearty thanks and salute to the ladies at the reception. Also since reception was the only place in the resort with internet we spent quite some time here. The tent: As brilliant and rustic it could get, giving us the feeling of staying in a game resort. Furniture was all some special wood and very classy. The rooms do not have phones and guests are provided with a whistle and torch in case of emergency. Since the resort is in midst of a game zone is prone to animals visiting and this remains a concern initially days. We did not have a sound sleep in 4 nights of stay due to this fear, constant rains in night and also strange noises of owls, elephants, mowing of cows and some rituals where cows are taken to some close by river with howling and moaning sounds.. this sounded very scary and spooked us. Unfortunately, our whistles and torches were unattended but this passed and we got used to it. The Restaurant: Quality and variety of food is amazing, lot of options for vegetarian food in all meals and also very fresh. The cocktails / mock tails were amazing and service at the resort is superb.. thank you team. View of the migration ground from the restaurant area was amazing.. very well placed resort. Pool, Spa and Surround; extremely beautiful and clean right in the center of nature everything at the resort was fantastic. My mom took a few sessions of massage and it was relaxing and comforting. Thank you team Mara Engai you guys were great keep up the amazing service and this beautiful resort.
