Mlilwane Game Sanctuary

What an experience! We stayed in the beehive huts & they are very simple but have electricity, comfortable & clean, with tea/coffee making facilities. Wildlife wandered around - warthogs, impalas & other antelope. The food (buffet style) was very good & the bar was well stocked - all very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again.

Sleeping between the animals. And literally this time. There are no gates after you enter the wildlife park. You sleep between the zebras and impalas in your rondavel. The lack of WiFi in the room provided a welcome moment of coming to earth. We didn't really miss it. We rented a mountainbike and did some biking around the wilflife park. Diner was served buffet-style with typical African dishes. The roundavel itself was simple. A cold concrete floor, a small kitchenette and a small area to shower. It was not luxurious, but actually quite suitable for the location!

This place really is a lot of fun. If you want something different from searching for the Big 5 this is your place. Sleep in the beehive huts, they have electricity, on-suite bathrooms and are very comfortable. At this place its all about going for walks or a horse ride (novice or experienced). They have lots of walking trails you can choose between some are east others are tough so ask the guides they are there to help you. Most nights the staff put on a great dancing and singing show for all the people in camp. It usually starts at 18:00 and lasts about 1 hours. It really is a great show so please leave them a tip at the end. The animals do walk around camp and you can get amazingly close to some of the antelope.

Just the perfect place to be..loads of activities on the menu ( horse riding/ swimming pool, trekking , sun set safari ..) and you sleep so well in the wooden beehives ….silent , clean and so cozy with the smell of wood / reed whatever it is made of + very pro active staff . We do recommend 👍

I have been to the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary for three days in March. I Had a beehive hut in Nyala Village. Sleeping in a beehive hut ist an unique experience. The porch of the restaurant lapa overlooks Birdy Lake and watch crocodiles while you are having your meal. The people there are very kind and friendly.

A rather big sanctuary and lodge catering for lot of big groups. Nice beehive huts gathered in a kraal. Nice surroundings with lots of antilopes, zebra, birds, crocodiles, turtles and warthogs. Nice and helpful staff. Wifi vouchers 50 rand a day at reception and restaurant. Good and not to long hike trails. Big pool. Activity by horses and bikes. Nice entertainment by local dressed performeres by logfire. Suggestions to improve the experience: - Add some inside chairs to sit on after dark - Divide the food area to get better logistics at breakfast. Make a lone standing egg station off the other food to divide the ques in morning like you have done with coffee.
