The room was very spacious and comfortable. We absolutely loved the room that we chose and the hotel. The food and service at the restaurant in the beach was great as well as the atmosphere. The views were wow, for sure we will return. The staff was very attentive and service oriented. Very nice breakfast and even more beautiful views.

The views of the Mediterranean were beautiful, every service from staff to the Spa were polished. The menus at the various restaurants and bars were delicious. The grounds were beautifully landscaped. I did not want or need to leave the property!

Terrible Service; staff not trained how this place is 5 stars is beyond me. The location is great but it’s an older hotel that is now being renovated. If we were given a heads up or warned I would have understood but they gave us no forewarning and when we got there we felt like we were staying on a construction site. The pool and pool bar area was a complete building site, jack hammering starts at 8am, only serve (mediocre) drinks at the pool so we had to go up the hill to the title to get your own food. When we did this and brought the food down to the pool they had forgotten to put any utensils in the bag, when we asked the pool bar manager for cutlery he said he didn’t have any and we had to go get our own. What an absolute joke, clearly the staff are frustrated by the condition of the hotel and the fact people are actually staying there at the same time. There were dozens of builders, heavy duty construction equipment all over the pool area. Even Dangerous tools left lying around that someone could get seriously hurt by. No toilets at the pool so had to go to a nearby restaurant. We stayed in room 132, 50% of the ocean view is blocked by overgrown bushes, we music blasting in the area outside our room all night. Housekeeping accidentally removed one of our duvet so we were short.

Really dissapointing stay at the santa marta. We booked direct with the hotel as they offered incentives such as early check in and free spa access. On arrival the 2 unfriendly check in girls said the room was not ready and the spa was closed. We eventually got in the room 30 mins after normal check in time. The aircon was not working so we had bad night in 30c room. Bathroom stank of ammonia. We asked to speak to manager and were told they don't work weekends. Needless to say they never showed their faces and we left on Tuesday.

This was among the finest, if not the finest, hotel I've ever stayed in (and I have extensively travelled). The view of the sea from our balcony was sublime. The hotel staff was wonderful. The bed and room was so comfortable. The complimentary daily breakfast with buffet was "to-write-home" about. The ocean-side infinity pools were magnificent. The beach was beautiful and reminded me of one we loved on St. Barts--but better. Wow. Out if the park St. Marta!!!

Where do I start? We had hoped for a few more nights at the end of our trip in Barcelona again. But the rates for rooms went from $300 to close to $1000 a night so we looked to the Coast. This hotel was a little over an hour drive to Barcelona. It is a special place and the rates were low since it was off season. Our room was luxurious--most comfortable bed and classic decor. We had a room with a seaview and just wow. The view was like we were on an movie set...picture perfect. The hotel itself is a resort...with a private beach, pool, spa, sprawling lounge areas with fires roaring in their fireplaces. For our 30th anniversary, the sent us a bottle of Cava and the most delectable cookies which was perfect before our romantic dinner in their outstanding restaurant. Waking up to the sound of waves crashing and eating the most abundant and truly delicious breakfast buffet on our trip. We were able to drive to Barcelona to see Sagrada one day, and the next checked out Tossa de Mar. We relaxed the afternoon the day before we left on their beach (which was basically all ours) and using their beautiful spa....don't miss the water treatment!

Nice ,intimate and beach view hotel, superb staff ,good food. Room 118 had sewage smell. The hotel is starting a large construction of a beach facility causing lost of noise and dust . This is not disclosed in their website ! Disclosure of such facts to clients is an industry standard...
