We wanted somewhere to eat on Saturday night as we were staying locally. The bar was busy and there was a large table booked but the lovely lady behind the bar found us a table. The menu is simple and my husband and I both ordered burgers. They were simple burgers and chips but they did the job. We even had room for pudding. I had the salted caramel waffle and he had the chocolate fudge cake with cream. Not a huge choice of wine but we had a nice bottle of Merlot. Overall it was ok, what we needed and filled us up. What did make it worth while was the lovely service we had. The lady behind the bar was all in her own but worked hard to keep everyone happy and did an excellent job.

I live here in town but the fish and chips are better than any chippy. My go to place for fish chips and mushy peas. Banging. Oh and the Sunday roast is beltin too.

Shabby and dated decor, a door off the bathroom had a notice on saying it was to be kept locked, this was open and working combi boiler was inside covered in cobwebs with big holes in floor boards, couldn’t sleep worrying about carbon monoxide poisoning! Towel rails dropped of the wall when you touched them, light above sink not working in bathroom, carpet was dirty, windows wouldn’t open, on the plus side clean sheets and towels

Staff were nice, room was clean.
But it’s not even at hostel level.
Smelly, old, dire.
Paid for 2 nights/2 rooms (non-refundable). Left after one night.

Hotel room basic could of done with a women's touch with the cleaning.
Evening food in the bar was excellent. The hunters chicken was the best I've ever had, and the fish and chips was 1st class.
Breakfast was just as good all cooked to order and plenty of it.

Photo's on website didnt match what we found on arrival and definitely 2 star. But the staff were friendly. The breakfast and dinners were great value and delicious it's in a good location and easy to park.
