Deri-Down Guest House

They were our savouirs. We were on our way to visit family and got stuck between some ver dangerous floods. After driving around trying to get through, we had to stop as we had our 2 small children with us. I started ringing places to stay and this was first on the list. We were so lucky they had space! They were brilliant getting the room ready for us. The whole place was lovely. We had the king size room and there was room for a trundle too. Our daughter kept wanting to get in the giant bath in the bathroom. This place was real value for money. Would recommend in a heart beat! Thank you so much!! Plus it had Netflix which my son was very pleased about!

Our room at the Deri-Down was lovely and comfortable with a large walk-in wardrobe and a modern well equipped en-suite shower room. There was a multi-channel TV, a small fridge with milk, tea/cofffee provided. The landlady was very helpful and allowed my son and his wife to change in our room for the wedding we were all going to. Our continental breakfast was well stocked with plenty choice of cereals, yoghourt, fruit etc. We passed on the full Welsh cooked breakfast that looked amazing. The off -road parking was a bonus. The landlord was also friendly and informative.

Nice friendly B&B with a good location for hiking local peaks Skirrid & Sugar Loaf. Will provide a good packed lunch on request. There is a good pub located very close to the accommodation. Abergavenny has a range of decent eating places for an evening meal.

Perfect location for walking in Brecon Beacons (or Black Mountains), and excellent hospitality from Mike and Del, both from the point of view of the well-equipped rooms and also the breakfasts. Nothing was too much trouble - Deri-Down is a real home from home!

We stayed one night here whilst visiting Abergavenny for a hospital appointment in July. Our room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and ensuite facilities and plenty of wardrobe space. The included breakfast which was served in the small dining room downstairs was of a high standard and our hosts were a very welcoming couple. The only down side was that, at the time of our visit, there was no pub or restaurant nearby for an evening meal which necessitated a drive into town and or take away fish and chips!

Very pleasant stay with some lovely individual touches not seen in corporate hotels.
