My partner and I visited Inn at the Sticks between the Christmas period. Being a veggie I thought I'd have "The Humble Parsnip" which was priced at £15 thinking it might be a nicely cooked bit of parsnip, few veggies, warm and good. I was presented with half a parsnip, on puree, with shavings of carrot or radish on the top. Granted it was cooked well and what there was of it tasted good but half of a 40p at cost parsnip for £15 is not good value for money.

Had a 3 night breakhere. Arrived in Llansteffan late morning well ahead of the check in time but thought we would call in to say we had arrived and enquire about parking arrangements and if we could leave our luggage with them until the check in time. We were warmly greeted and welcomed by "Jenks" on checking with the house keeper she told us that our room was ready which was a good start. It was a lovely room. We were left bottled water and Welsh cakes. There was a coffee/ tea machine with plenty of coffee pods, tea bags and milk. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Plenty of Instant very hot water with good pressure. The shower was simple to use with very good pressure too. Each room is themed .Ours was called Cedd. The info book in the room had a little story about it's name as well as the history of Inn at the sticks, village and surrounding area. We had a magnificent breakfast. Good choices from cereals, fresh fruit salad,or croissants to start and mains of Full Welsh breakfast, Scrambled egg and salmon, larva bread and cockles and bacon on sourdough toast. Plenty of other choices to be had on their breakfast menu too. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommended and we would definitely stay again.

So pleased to have been able to join Teej and Jenks for their opening weekend! Such a fantastic welcome. Food was amazing, wine was top notch and the bedroom was complete old world charm- couldn’t fault it, especially after a long walk on the beach! The first of what will no doubt be a regular retreat!

Absolutely recommend this Inn for B&B and most definitely recommend the food, best dinner out we have had in ages. The owners are friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Kept reading the reviews thinking it can’t be this good but I can honestly say it was absolutely fabulous, thank you for a fabulous weekend.

What a brilliant place to stay. A beautifully restored 18th Century Inn in the middle of the village right by the church. View out of our bedroom window was the castle and the beach is about 5 mins walk down the hill. We spent a very happy hour strolling along the beach with hardly a soul around watching the cockle boats coming in. The food is something else. The cockle popcorn was excellent, and the Mackerel Escabeche was wonderful. The star of the show was the Lamb Shoulder and a beef cottage pie that was bordering on the brilliant. We weren’t let down by the desserts either, if you have one thing make it the Honeycomb Ice Cream. The wine list is really well matched to the food as well. It was a truly excellent meal and the atmosphere in the bar was wonderful. Breakfast was really good – cockles on toast with poached eggs went down very well as did the cheese and meat plate. It gets better, Teej and Jenks are absolutely brilliant hosts and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door to when we left. Mali and Henry who were working in restaurant also deserve praise for their wonderful friendly service. We will most definitely be going back.

Wonderful re-opening. Tuesday lunchtime with ladies that lunch. We hadn’t booked ( recommend you do) but had a table. Charming service. Delicious mixture of Welsh tapas. All beautifully cooked and well presented. Portions a great size. Fun t share. Food doesn’t come all at once but this isn’t a problem when you’re sharing. It assured everything was hot and fresh.

Had a delicious Sunday lunch for three people - the famous giant Yorkshire puddings and gorgeous braised beef in superbly rich gravy (I hate the word jus - it’s gravy!) Also a fine bottle of lightly alcoholic Verdejo Excellent puddings too Fine food, excellent customer service and a truly friendly welcome. We shall return - soon
