Hotel Gran Pacifico

We had a spectacular view of volcanoes and sea from our spacious ocean-view suite for a very modest price. Good value. The hotel sorely needs updating, though. The common areas, especially the carpets, are frayed. The window at the end of our floor was replaced by plywood. The bathroom is so dated it's probably impossible to clean properly. The neighborhood is a bit run down, but convenient, as long as climbing a short hill is OK.
Puerto Chico Hotel

Beautiful, cozy, beautiful and impeccable rooms. Highly recommended. Large and modern bathrooms, with appliances for the elderly who require them. Super well attended. Staff very concerned about serving passengers very well. It has a Restaurant in the front, called Cambalache, with meat and fish, all exquisite. You have a 20% discount on the entire Restaurant, because you are a passenger of the Hotel. You have the beach across the street. The breakfasts are fantastic!!
Ibis Puerto Montt

Very clean room and very comfy bed. Nice rain shower and bathroom marble table. Friendly staff, breakfast has a lot of options from bread to 3 types of yogurt and 4 types of cereal. Pineapple, kiwi and banana for fruit and even some cheesecake. Wifi is also great, no issues doing videocalls. TV mostly Spanish but also has CNN and BBC. Highly recommend for the price.
Playa Maqui Lodge

A small node on the Llanquihue Lake. The house was built in 1881 by German emitters and is now in the fifth generation in the ownership of the same family. In recent years, some parts have been tried to re-establish in a wooden state, as a burning wooden door is also part of it. Wonderful atmosphere, access to private beach, breakfast with a lot of things from your own production. Not least very friendly hosts, who are aside with advice and action (in German).
Hotel Diego de Almagro Puerto Montt

Today 21 July at 22:00, at the eighth floor, room 807 and in the city of Puerto Montt in the winter I am bathing with cold water ... calling the reception I just hear the voice of the person on the other side of the line who me it asks you to speak stronger because with the static noise of the same line I can't hear. Fix the blessed phones .... For my job travels regularly and sometimes I have seen in the obligation to host in middle-haired hotels, I had never happened anything like this.
Park Inn by Radisson, Puerto Varas

This hotel was a downer! The location was fine, that was the only positive. Despite the listing on Radisson and RocketMiles saying so, there was no restaurant. No bar. No room service. No business center. The pictures clearly don’t show that this is an old hotel. Stained carpets and smoky hallways abound. The staff at the front desk seemed way too interested in their mobile phones than in guest service! Check in was 3:00pm, which was fine, but there was clearly no early check in. We had lunch, came back at 2:50 and were again told NO. Then 10 minutes later, our room was ready. We asked the housekeeper when we saw her and she said the room was ready a few hours ago! We were assigned room 412. We went to the fourth floor and the rooms were 400-411. No such room after searching and searching. When we went back downstairs to inquire, he matter-of-factly said: “Oh, 412 is on the third floor and up the stairs in the back”. Wow! Intuitive and would have been nice to know. We had to “book” our breakfast time even though it was a buffet. We arrived at 7:30 and the tables were not even set. It is unclear why we had to schedule. Overall a disappointing stay.
