I read all the reviews before I went and therefore lowered my expectations. My friend and I were on a coach trip with Acklam’s. Luckily for us we got a room with a view, overlooking the promenade and seafront, which was spectacular. The room itself was small but room enough for us with two single beds. Surprisingly, the bathroom sink was in the main room, not the bathroom. Luckily, we have been friends for years and been on holiday many times together so it didn’t bother us too much. The beds were comfy and clean and the chambermaid made a lovely job every day, even folding our night clothes and placing them on our pillows. Fresh towels every day and our cups were either washed or replaced not sure which. As said in previous reviews the breakfast was excellent but the evening meal not so good. We found all the staff to be friendly and hardworking. The evening entertainment seemed to be popular but was aimed at the older people on coach trips. Bingo every night, £5 for a ***** of cards, but good prize money. I did go swimming once and found the pool to be much smaller than in the pictures and could have done with a good clean as the tiles were dirty. It was warm though. The whole of the hotel could do with being refurbished as it was looking tired but the location was absolutely spot on. Llandudno is a lovely place to visit. I would go back to this hotel as I did enjoy the visit. You get what you pay for as they say, just lower your expectations and go with the flow. We didn’t encounter any problems anyway and nothing of great concern that caused us to complain.

There were twelve women in our party, we went with majestic, when we got there people took our cases inside and left them in a lounge where we had to find them and take to our rooms. When I walked into our room I couldn’t close the door because it was so small it was claustrophobic. The room was a single bedroom in which they’d taken the bedside table out and put another bed in, it looked out on a flat roof and fire escapes, you could smell the food from the kitchen, I went to ask for another room so they took us to room 109 which was a family room when we said we’d take that we were informed that it would be an extra £120, we didn’t ask for that room they offered it to us. When I went to reception later to ask something I was told that we had to pay the money straight away or the key wouldn’t open our room after 24 hours, which I took as a bit of a threat, so I paid the money straight away, when we had a good look at the cleanliness and the dirty sofa we went to reception to ask for the extra money we’d paid. The manageress was wearing a baggy pair of joggers and a baggy t.shirt, seeing her cleanliness and hygiene it stood to reason why she said the room was clean, the room was freshly decorated and carpeted, the bathroom was very small but newish, the bath mat had mildew on the bottom so I put a message in it asking for it to be removed from our room, there was a cream sofa in the bay which was black, I took a video and photos of it and showed reception, the following day someone went in the room and took one sweep across it and that has the nerve to tell majestic it was clean, in the Thursday we went on a day trip, when we came back our beds had been made but the floor hadn’t been hoovered and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. When I went to reception the receptionist apologised and cleaned the room while we were having dinner, the food was mediocre, salad every night, cooked dinner every night and an alternative, I had ham salad every night, dessert was a factory made cheesecake, chocolate cake or trifle. The dining room wasn’t very nice and had a foundry smell about, tables and chairs were marked and worn. We stay in a 4*hotel in Torquay for Turkey and tinsel with another coach company, which is immaculate, staff are really friendly, they serve a 6 course dinner and all you can think of including smoked salmon, kippers and continental breakfast for the same price we paid for this disgusting place

Positives: Great location, sea front and close to the town and everything. Pool is good, but the 'changing rooms' are just one room with one bench, I was lucky enough to go when it was empty although my girlfriend said she got funny looks off a mother and daughter while she tried to change but what can you do in an open room? Negatives: Our room door would only open if you slammed into it (had to ask for help at reception initially). Corridor lights flickering and the outside our room didn't work and had a wire hanging down. Sink in bedroom, bathroom was beyond small and the noisy sliding door didn't close properly. Shower pressure was laughable. Walls paper thin, I was awake about 6.30am listening to next door chatting away as they got up, clearly word for word. Hotel has dusty cobwebs all over if you look which proves it isn't cleaned well. Dining time you're told where to sit which I didn't like at all, so you're sharing a table with other people which is always initially very awkward and you must keep this table for your entire stay. The food was poor, frozen veg, same offers every night except the meat changed and the bland soup. We only stayed for 2 of our 4 evening meals as we felt we'd rather pay to eat out and have a more enjoyable experience. Bar sells drinks at rip off prices, so we went to the Wetherspoons which is a 4/5 min walk away and half the price. Needs money pumping into it to make it so much more.

Hotel, although good location, desperately in need of major refurbishment. The cleanliness at the hotel leaves much to be desired and could best be described as substandard. Diners were seated too closely together and "herded" in on first arrival to ensure seating was regulated, as if at school! Breakfasts were buffet style but evening meals were basic, insubstantial and lacking meaningful choice. The "menus" to choose the evening meals from were basically "scraps of paper".

A disappointed stay at this hotel. Just returned from a five day coach trip staying at this hotel. First impression from the outside is good. However passing the front reception area it's different. The hotel is old and shows it. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable but the room itself is small and contains a small TV and one of the smallest bathrooms I have seen. It appears to be slotted into a large cupboard. The shower is very small and the room itself has no where to put belong or hang up any clothes. The door is sliding door so no hooks. The room service is efficient and tea/coffee replaced daily. For a few days in could be called adequate. The lifts are small but being three of them you do not wait to long for them. The restaurant on the ground floor is very crowded with tables. The breakfast is self service and is of a good standard with lots choices. However the evening meal not so good. You need to order at breakfast what you want. The choice is very small and very basic but is served to you but be prepared to having a long wait at times. The food is well cooked and served hot . Being a three star hotel don't expect high quality or choice. The hotel location is good only a short walk to the shopping center or pier. The bonus being plenty of cafes and restaurants close by. Expect cheap and cheerful and you want be disappointed. You get what you pay for.

Hannah, Receptionist on duty, was courteous, polite & welcoming when we arrived on-site. Our room was ready prior to 15.00 and we were allocated our seaview room as pre-requested. Our family room was spacious, cleaned immaculately and our in-room contents were plentiful. Breakfast was well up to standard with sufficient choices. The indoor swimming pools were more than adequate for the Hotel's star rating. We had booked independently so I was disappointed by the way in which certain Coach Party guests spoke to Hannah. In fact, it was necessary to remind one guest not to use offensive language in front of my 7 year old granddaughter. Hannah was highly professional. On perusing some of the negative and highly critical reviews being written by Coach Party guests, I can only say 'You get what you pay for' and by choosing to travel in large groups, your costs will have been competitive. If you want five star facilities then pay five star prices. Please can Management applaud Hannah for her professional manner. The exterior of The hotel looks amazing. The rear car park was a bonus. Thankyou to everyone especially housekeeping and Dining room/Bar staff. You made our weekend complete. This Victorian Hotel definitely represents good value for money in an ideal location.

Having booked a short break away to Llandudno with a well known coach Touring company, my friend and I were really looking forward to it. On arrival outside we were greeted with a food hygiene score of 3 gold stars and large baited rat traps. Once inside the hotel (Fawlty Towers would have been a better option) the decor looked tired and dated. The carpet was threadbare in places. Despite being told by my travel agent that a disabled room would be booked for me on the ground floor, my bedroom & my friend's room was next together on the 1st floor. There are no ground floor rooms whatsoever. So if you are in a wheelchair, this hotel is NOT suitable for you. In each of our rooms, none of us had a working TV. Our bedding was heavily stained, I phoned reception and demanded fresh unsoiled bedding, I had to phone on behalf of my friend as she didn't have a telephone in her room. When it was time to go for the evening meal, we were herded like cattle into a large dining room, which had over 300 guests. The soup was potato and leek and was extremely salty. The main course was chicken breast, 2 new potatoes tinned carrots and peas, drizzled with some thing called gravy. After biting into the chicken and chewing, my tooth cracked and came out into my hand. Jam Roly Polly with congealed custard for dessert. Which I declined. My friend and I played bingo and then to the bar for a drink, before bed. The window did not shut, and we and other guests were kept awake by the noisy seagulls, foraging for scraps of food from the outside bins. Breakfast was at 8:30am and had a reasonable selection on offer, if you wanted a cooked or cereal and toast breakfast. Llandudno is a beautiful seaside resort and I loved every minute of being there. Next time I visit Llandudno, I shall make sure I stay well away from The Chatsworth Hotel, and stay elsewhere.

Stayed here 2 nights Fri/Sat it is situated in a great spot near shops and sea front. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. However the bathroom was way too small! Good entertainment each night after 1 hour bingo.
