I visited The Dunoon as part of a coach holiday (and I had a twin room for solo use). The hotel is in a fabulous location and well placed for attractions, without being on the potentially noisy seafront. Staff were welcoming and the dinner menu caters for most palettes (and my dinner companion did find some gluten free options/ they provided appropriate bread etc). I found the hotel very welcoming and enjoyed having a drink in the bar. Staff were very helpful and the hotel has a traditional old school charm. Bed very comfy and I was very warm and snug. I'd stay here again and recommend it, when visiting this lovely Welsh resort.

I booked my room with Secret Escapes but I don't think it's particularly expensive and I REALLY loved it. I loved my room and I loved the staff - the reception staff and the dining room staff were GREAT. It's not much of a walk to the sea and the shops. I had dinner there and my pasta main meal was the best pasta dish I have ever eaten - and I eat a lot of pasta! There was a nice vibe in the dining room. Breakfast was also delicious and plenty of it. I will be back as soon as I can manage it. I wish I'd stayed longer but hindsight etc etc

Excellent hotel, centrally situated within easy walk of railway station and on bus routes. Service was thoughtful and staff were friendly. Food surpassed what we expected, both in terms of variety, quality and quantity. All told, what you should expect from a 4 star hotel.

Stayed here as part of a Great Rail Journeys group and was more than satisfied. Typical victorian charm but well located for exploring Llandudno, Compact room on top floor - clean with good bathroom. Evening meal although not Cordon Bleu was more than adequate with plenty of choice and very good breakfast again with multi choice and cooked to order. Friendly and efficient staff

Stayed at the Dunoon Hotel for 3 nights along with parents who are both in their 80's. We booked through an offer with Secret Escapes and the deal included a 3 course meal each night. Choice of starters, mains and desserts didn't change over our 3 nights, but there was enough choice not to have the same thing twice ! They also offered a different soup each night and this wasn't classed as a starter, so you could actually have 4 courses. The hotel has an old worldly feel and the clientelle reflected that - I felt positively young at 5 months short of my 60th birthday. The Secret Escapes booking was for a superior double room and ours was located in a section of the hotel known as 'Next Door'. It had a separate entrance with a lift upto all 3 floors. We would give the hotel 10 out of 10 for the Hypnos bed and mattress. We slept very well. Nice view over the front of the hotel. We did not here any noise from the main road and if lucky you can park right outside as there are no restrictions. Staff in the main were all friendly, if a little serious at times. The hotel drinks prices were as you would expect, but not overly priced. However a Wetherspoon's is only a short walk away ! The saying been there, done that, comes to mind, and as much as we had a pleasant stay, not sure we feel we fit into the old people category yet. !! Llandudno definately has wheelchairs, motorised buggies and walking sticks in abundance, so the long sweeping promenade is ideal for those with mobility issues.

The hotel was very nice. We were in a group tour there. Our room was in the new part. It was very nice. Our tour came with breakfast and dinner. We weren’t expecting much, but the food was delicious! Our room was very clean, and bed was very comfortable. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Had a three night stay with dinner, bed and breakfast - the team were so friendly and attentive, the food in the restaurant was superb, different menu every night and gluten free options no problem, breakfast was lovely too, hot and freshly cooked, gluten free toast available. We stayed 'Next Door' in a superior room which was large, clean and comfortable with lovely decor and a super shower - our Labrador was made welcome and was able to join us in the bar and lounge. We so enjoyed our stay we've booked again!

Lovely traditional hotel, would totally recommend staying here. A few tips / comments below. Food is very good, staff are excellent throughout. Rooms are well kept and spacious, except for the bathrooms on the rooms facing the front, our room had a bathroom of approximately 5 foot square, it had a lovely shower but very crampt otherwise. The hotel is well placed, a 5 minute walk to the town and seaside. Beware though that it was a little noisy at the front, on Saturday there were people walking past into the small hours. Although this was not too intrusive to sleep, we did hear it with the windows ajar. Bar is lovely to sit and sup in after a meal, staff were very good. Reception and support staff were very good. A couple of comments made were that is this really 4 star accommodation, it is debatable. However if you like traditional hotels with good quality customer service and don't expect modern appliances and decor then this hotel is recommended.
