Dunoon Hotel

We paid 240 pounds living at an attic, small, very noisy and hot room. My head hit at the roof twice and felt bad about the at layout. By the way, the toilet is broken and cannot flush water well. The bathroom water is not steady, sometimes hot and sometime cold. No comfort at all. I am curious why it can have four stars!

Had a lovely stay in this hotel. The hotel and staff were welcoming and very friendly. We stayed in the next door part of the hotel and the room was wonderful . Spotlessly clean with a massive bed. There was also a couple of sets of drawers and a wardrobe with hangers. Tea and coffee was provided. We had dinner on the first night which was very good and the wine a good price. The waiter was very helpful. Breakfast had a good choice but sometimes it smelt of burnt toast due to people not understanding how to use the toaster? All in all a lovely few days exploring the area in a central location. It has a couple of nice lounges too as well as seating outside to enjoy a drink or two. There was parking a little along the road belonging to the hotel.

They hosted a great formal group dinner for us. Food was delicious. Thanks to Gerwyn and his staff for their excellent service.

The Dunoon Hotel is a friendly, comfortable hotel. My ensuite room had everything I needed. It was freshly decorated and was well insulated from the sound of seagulls. The bar and lounge had comfortable seating. Reception staff were very helpful, especially when medical advice was necessary. A GP appointment was booked. The dining-room staff were bright, cheerful and helpful. The food was excellent and beautifully served. One evening when our 30 person coach party was over 2 hours late for dinner, due to a road accident, the staff stayed on late to serve us our 3 course dinner with a smile! We were amazed and delighted.

I visited The Dunoon as part of a coach holiday (and I had a twin room for solo use). The hotel is in a fabulous location and well placed for attractions, without being on the potentially noisy seafront. Staff were welcoming and the dinner menu caters for most palettes (and my dinner companion did find some gluten free options/ they provided appropriate bread etc). I found the hotel very welcoming and enjoyed having a drink in the bar. Staff were very helpful and the hotel has a traditional old school charm. Bed very comfy and I was very warm and snug. I'd stay here again and recommend it, when visiting this lovely Welsh resort.

I booked my room with Secret Escapes but I don't think it's particularly expensive and I REALLY loved it. I loved my room and I loved the staff - the reception staff and the dining room staff were GREAT. It's not much of a walk to the sea and the shops. I had dinner there and my pasta main meal was the best pasta dish I have ever eaten - and I eat a lot of pasta! There was a nice vibe in the dining room. Breakfast was also delicious and plenty of it. I will be back as soon as I can manage it. I wish I'd stayed longer but hindsight etc etc
