I stayed at the hotel four times in the last month and each time it was perfect. Matthew, Adam, Gerry and Gemma were everything you could want as hosts and the food was superb. The hotel has a great bar and also has free parking. I also had Sunday lunch there this week and it was delicious. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

A very comfortable hotel with friendly staff and delicious Dinner - and then a lovely, tasty full Welsh breakfast! Comfortable bedroom, I was on the top floor - Room 4 (I think) that was just what I wanted and roomy. Three nights and will be back!

We love this characterful country hotel. We have a wonderful meal on a Sunday night, with excellent food and most noteworthy of all, top class service. We were made to feel at home. The staff were flexible and kind. We has three rooms which were all cozy and just nice.

Excellent Service and Food We had our Staff Christmas Dinner in the Ballroom at the Castle Hotel.. The Staff were friendly and very accommodating to our needs , especially Adam and Bradley, first class service. 40 meals were all served in order , hot food , presented beautifully......Had exclusive use of the room with a private bar ! Delt with Mathew the Manager prior to the day, First Class !

Book table for dinner. First they tried to change the time of the booking without asking. We ordered our meal and waited over 55 Minutes to be served. Ordered the what was termed as traditional Coq au Vin but it was not a chicken leg potion slowly cooked a rich red wine sauce but 3 chicken breast fillets with a thin tomato and onion sauce poured over the separately cooked chicken which had very little flavour. I advised the server and when I later advised the manager he said he was as aware of my comments, that it was my option and that he had cooked it before walking off.

Ordered 4 adult beef dinners and 2 child beef dinners..2 dinners arrived and waited 5 mins for next dinners only to see waiter take them off next table and said he’d given them to wrong people and was told don’t worry they hadn’t touched them 😔 adult dinner consisted of 2 slices of beef which was nice a Yorkshire pudding on top,1 carrot,1 roast potato,1 parsnip and a pile of what I think was undercooked kale.brought us 1 dish of cauliflower cheese which had to much I think was mustard in it but that dish was between 6 people where other people had a dish between 2..dinner cost us £96 and we left disappointed and still hungry wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend this place we have had much better dinners with more then 1 potato and less in price 😔

This has always been our go to eating place in Llandovery. Not any more sadly. What was a lovely, cozy pub/hotel lunch is now no better than an average fried food place. No maitre’d, although the other two staff were lovely. No bound menu just well worn laminated A4 sheets. Food was average. Salad garnish, peas and tartare sauce were lovely. Chips were ok but the fish (beer battered cod) was grey and not the freshest. Sorry to see what was a decent place go this far down hill.

A lovely place to stay. Susan and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend this hotel for trips to the Brecon Beacons ............................................................................................
